I ran into a friend recently and she told me we have a local paranormal research group. I had NO idea! Their next meeting is April 21st. It will include a site visit and some "ability" exercises.

It's very exciting. I've never been part of an investigative group, just my little group of close friends for whom "weirdness" is a part of their daily lives as well.

I attended my 1st meeting of the Southern Paranormal Research Society tonight. Everyone was very friendly and I truly felt welcomed. We went on an exercise at a very old cemetary. I think the oldest grave there is late 1600's or early 1700's.

My digital camera held up and I've got to down-load the pictures. I did get a few orbs, 1 in particular was very striking. I know many don't put much weight in photos with orbs, but I've had several unexplainable incidences with them.

Two people got some very strange light "squigglies" or "ribbons." That's certainly not technical terms, but describes it best. One was green and may well have been a lightning bug. They were flying about. The other two were both orange. I was standing close when one picture was taken and may have been caused by the street light. However the other was in front of a large palm, and we don't have any bugs down here that flash orange.

The cemetary was very peaceful for me. At one point I climbed up on the stump of a live oak that must have been over 200 years old. It was quite warm, and I felt I could just sit there for a few hours. It was that comfortable a spot.

I have been in this part of the cemetary only once, over 10 years ago. Yet I knew where the walkways were in the dark. We were out there for over 2 hours and I never got turned around. This cemetary is full of trees and quite a few large monuments, so it would be easy to lose your bearings. Somehow it was uncannily familiar, and that was probably the strangest thing for me.

Icp, did you get any really good pictures? I would love to see them. Photobucket is a good image host site. From there you can download them to here.

Cemetaries are quite peaceful, I find. There was a very old one in the Santa Cruz mountains (California) that I used to visit when I lived a few miles away.

Are you still attending the Society meetings?

I only got a few pictures with orbs. However, one person did get an orange light ribbon. I have no clue what that was.

Our next meeting is May 19th, but it will be mainly a planning meeting for the June conference at The Florida Inn at Fernandina Beach. I have been there and it is rumored to be very active. However, with the history of Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island (just north of Jacksonville, FL) there aren't too many places that are not active. I worked at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island for a few years, and experienced some things in a relatively new building.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the conference. It's the same weekend as our 16th anniversary. My husband has informed me, I will not be home that weekend, or even in the area.

So it will be July or August before I get to join another field trip or investigation.

We have had a rash of "disappearances" in our house after the April meeting. Things go missing around me and then turn up in the oddest places imagineable.

My vegetable peeler was found in the storage box with my daughter's regalia many years ago.

This past week, a head of lettuce left the fridge. My husband and I both went through it thoroughly. It reappeared on the top shelf yesterday. My friend comes by most mornings for coffee. Early last week she told me the cannister was almost empty. I pointed to 2 bags of coffee on the pantry shelf.

Monday they were GONE! My husband is convinced I brought someone home with me from the cemetary. That happened when we went to San Diego, and is not as uncommon as I thought.

Whoever followed you home must have sensed your hospitality and acceptance.

I have never had experiences like you mention, but, I do know it is more common then most people realize.

I have had many Orbs through out my life. More so now than ever. I have felt that I have brought home a new one now and again. Once was after visiting the Savanha Cementry. And from New Oreleans. My oldest son died almost 2 yrs ago and when my daughter got married this November it was almost as thou the people were in the way of the orbs. The most I've ever gotton at one event. Pretty Cool though. As though everyone that had someon in there life that had passed that had any realtionship with anyone there they were there for.

Usually when I get the colored itentical lines I refer to them as Traveling Identicals. To do with Mental Teleapthy.

I have never seen colored identical lines in a photograph. Could you maybe post one of the pictures? I'd be very interested in seeing it.

We had our post conference meeting this week. I was unable to attend the conference, as my daughter and husband had given me concert tickets for Mother's Day. The concert was in NC, the same weekend as the conference in FL.

I missed a good one though. The teams were able to photograph quite a bit of activity, and there were many personal experiences. The guests speakers were awesome in their abilities, explanation, and guidance.

SPRS had previously investigated the hosting bed and breakfast with tangible results. This conference included a psychic/medium who was able to expound on the previous results and the experiences during the conference.

SPRS has a bunch of stuff planned for this year, and I'm looking forward to participating.
