how do you know when is a good time to get a therapist involoved with a 7year old.. my husband recently split up in process of divorce and although he hasnt started talking to either my ex nor myself he is starting to cry about his loss and missing daddy which he calls at his leisure and sees.. when is a good time to get a therapist since it is so new i was going to wait till end of august since i will be home all summer and see how it goes and if he starts to open up .. he does understand what has happened and does understand the fightning needed to stop and has for the most part. hopefully we ex and i can be cival in front of him to help reassure him and make him feel better we go to court on friday and my ex is fighting stuff so it is still volitile and hostile towards one another which i hope when all is said and done things will simeer between us and we can finally co parent. any suggestions.. i am at a loss thanks d

Any time you feel you should get a therapist is the right time. Also, as hard as it is, your child will survive as long as you and your ex do find a way to co parent with each other. You can reassure him that his daddy loves him, and you can also help him dial his daddy.

No matter how your ex acts at least you be calm and civil. That way your son knows he has at least one person he can count on.
