Great article BB...I've been hearing about this lately and have been questioning the antibacterial soaps I have been buying. And when we started with the convenience of liquid soaps and dispensers, everyone thought, what a great find when the antibacterial came out. People need to know what you wrote about....Kudos girl

I read about this some time ago. It seems to be the same principle regarding overuse of antibiotics: the good bacteria is killed off along with the bad bacteria, making it harder for the body to fight off disease.

I don't know whether we should stop using antibacterial soaps altogether - it's better than nothing if you really need to wash your hands and don't have access to water. Maybe it might be best to limit use instead?

Antibacterial Soap is any cleaning product to which active antibacterial ingredients have been added. These chemicals kill bacteria and microbes. They are no more effective at deactivating viruses than any other kind of soap or detergent. This only concept work for antibacterial soap.
