It depends on what the job is. We had new siding and windows put in and for sure we are not qualified to do that!

We had a basement in our other home. My husband installed a wet-bar, cabinets, mirrors, stuccoed the walls, and installed Z-brick. He also put in boards that he stained dark. The room was in the Tudor style.

About a year ago, the little thingy in the toilet broke (see my technical jargon ?) I went to the hardware store and the man told me to replace it would only take 15 minutes. He explained what I needed to do, so I bought the piece and went home secure in the knowledge that I COULD DO IT.
I arrived home and started to work on fixing the 15 minute toilet job...well 8 hours later after having flooded the entire upstairs bathroom (he left out the part about turning off the water...I guess I was supposed to KNOW that )...I finally had it fixed enough for me to go ahead and call the plumber.

Aww, Dianne, at least you tried to fix it!
