It's funny the difference a little bit of extra coaching can make to your game, the kids were getting coaching at the local junior league but seemed to reach a point and not get past it. I found another coach who runs a pro-shop about an hours drive away and made an appointment to take them down firstly to get them some coaching and as I needed a new bowling ball it made sense to kill two birds with one stone.
So we went and the coach was great with the kids who really took to him, they got free coaching as I was buying a ball, I got some coaching as well to make sure the ball was right. We have been down twice now to see him and well what a difference. The youngest son has improved his game and after getting his new ball set himself a new personal best score, the oldest son found more consistancy in his game and bowled his first clean game. Although he is trying to sort a problem with his approach he is still keeping consistant scores.
It was a real eye opener to actually see the kids enjoying the coaching they were getting I have to admit his style really makes a difference he has them enjoying the game more and his love of the sport really shines through. So although some say it's a fair distance to drive for some coaching is it worth it? I answer well yes the kids enjoy his style of coaching and their game is improving.
