My youngest son is in pre-k and when walking him to his classroom I often make small talk with the other moms and grandmothers(though oddly enough rarely the dads. A few of them I really like. Anyhow the year is over halfway through and I've realized something.....I don't know a single one of their names. They're all just so and so's mom. We've never properly introduced ourselves. So now it's bothering me but I'm not sure I want to introduce myself to people I've been chatting with for months...Kind of embarrassing.

Well, I find that it is much less embarrassing for me to find out the person's name than to keep up the farce. a technique I use is at the end of the discussion say, "Thank you, excuse me, what is your name again?" Trust me, they most likely don't know your name either and will perhaps appreciate the refresher. Plus, it will be a good character exercise to conquer something that makes you uncomfortable. I'm sure they don't know mine either I'm just my kids mom. I'll have to introduce myself sooner or later though because my son's birthday is in the summer and I know he's gonna want a few of his friends there. Plus one of them was going to have another baby and I'd like to get her something.

Well if your son is having a birthday in the summer that makes it easier. Next time you're there pull out a pen and some paper and say that you'd like to invite them could they write their numbers down for you so you can call them, oh and please put your name beside it so I know who's number is who's. :blush:
