I am considering having the Novasure procedure and was wondering if anyone, who has already had it done, experienced any side effects regarding intercourse.

I had a hysteroscopy, D&C and Novasure performed Sept. 08. I'm in my 40's and I have to say that the Novasure side effects for me have all been positive. Especially where intercourse is concerned - No bleeding can make you feel so free. I have not experienced any vaginal dryness or irritation - Its all good. I wish you luck.

No dryness here The only problem I had for the first 4 months was wanting sex!

Hi, im booked in to have my Novasure 8am on Monday morning..........ive been reading some horror stories on here and now in worried about the after effects or/and if it works?.....What can i expect from this surgery? My Doctor has told me that i need a general for this to be done and that for a while the cramps will be painfull,she will be giving me morphine for the pain and i will also need a week off work because i wont feel like doing much for the rest of next week. I read it was a local and straight forward preceedure that would allow me to be active the day after!..........So help! What do i expect?

Believe your Dr some women are down for a month others are fine in a day or two.Your Dr at least gave you info up front many dont.You will have a discharge for 3 to 6 weeks also after.My pain the day of my novasure was a 10 but I have talk to other women who had really no pain I guess it depends on your body.I had a spinal and other drugs. I was out and dont remember a thing!

Everyone is different. For me the experience was a breeze. I had no pain, minimal cramping on the day of the procedure minor discharge for about 2 weeks. I had my procedure performed in a hospital under general. I remember absolutely nothing. After you return to your room you will have to eat something and be able to go to the bathroom before you will be discharged. My whole experience start to finish was about 2 1/2 hours. I arrived at 7am and was on my way home by 9:30am. I came home feeling somewhat groggy from the surgical medication slept most of that day and was fine the next day. Its been 8 months and I am so happy with the results. I wish you luck.

Hi ladies. I had mine done "in office" under a local. The doc gave me vallium & darvocet an hour before. I was a bit groggy but wide awake. I did not find it painful at all. I was down that day and 1/2 the next. I had a light pinky clear discharge for a few days and then nothing. I would swear by this procedure. But as stated by SM64 everyone is different. If you're having second thoughts I would see another gyno just for that extra bit of wisdom. Do what you feel is right for you :)

Hiya, Well ive had it done....last Monday, the whole thing was a breeze, the worst part was my nerves! lol, i was great after the general (as i do suffer from bad sickness) and i had no pain whatsoever! little bit of cramping but i was already cramping when i went in because my period was due that day, and thats a bad as the cramping got, no bleeding and a tiny amount of discharge, even stopped using towels 4 days later!........now then 3 days later the fun started, i got 2 infections! urinary and uterus, i felt so sick, dizzy and faint that i just knew something terrible was going on, anyhow the Docs got me on 2 different antibotics which upset my tummy so im not sure if the sicky feeling has abated or not, and im off work for another week! I feel rather weak and tired which i hate i just cant seem to get my energy back, but im convinced that if it wasnt for the infections i would be back to normal minus the horrendously heavy period that i manage to miss this time due to the timing of the surgery. I still say and always will, if your offered this treatment, take it with both hands!....................when can the sex re-start? :)

P.S...............I had a Hysteroscapy, Novasure and Endometrial Ablation all in 1 procedure
