Hi, People. I'm new here, found this forum thread and figured this would be a good place to start. I live in New England (love it!) with my husband and 17-year-old daughter and three cats. We have three other children, all grown and on their own, but we see them often (a good thing). I have two beautiful grandsons, age 10 and 5; and my oldest daughter, her husband and I are actors at a Renaissance Faire, which we absolutely love! I've been sewing since I was five (my dolls all had extensive wardrobes), knitting since I was seven (though I don't knit any more...don't like to), tatting since I was 13 and crocheting for over 30 years. I've also done some sculpting, both with clay and fabric, paper crafts (read, scrapbooking, which is incredibly time-consuming, I've found out!), embroidery and gardening. The intro here, if you will, to the forum, in part, said "So come visit our forums and let us know what projects you are working on throughout our warm weather seasons." Right now, I've put away the Aran crochet sweater I'm making for my son and brought out all the thread. Thread crochet angels is my 'thing', right now. The projects are light, easy, quick and cool to work on. I'm making one for all the kids, and a couple with matching doilies for friends. I'm also tatting an edging for a bridal handkerchief for my son's fiance. Thanks for inviting me. I probably won't be showing often, but when I do, I know I'll enjoy the chat. Blessings to all of you. -J

Welcome to the forum. You are going to love it here. I am going to be making some chokers for a few teenagers that live a few doors down. But first I must finish my teddy bears I am making for a couple of birthday boys in my infant class. I hope to see you here often.

I live in Kentucky, a self taught crocheter since 1996. I am a former Home Economics teacher that owned a custom sewing and alteration business. I am now retired to enjoy crocheting and now knitting with my companion welsh terrier. I love to challenge my self with every project. I just recently learned to knit a baby sweater from the top down and to crochet doilies from a chart.

Welcome degrawturtle,
It's nice to have another crocheter from Kentucky join us. I hope you enjoy your stay. I am working on an afghan for my son that I am doing in single crochet from a graph. I am finding it slow progress but it will be beautiful when finished. And of course it is footballs, his favorite sport.

Hi, I'm Michelle, and I am a crochet-a-holic. Ok, so I do it for fun in my spare (ha, ha) time. I'm from Illinois and I frequently crochet while playing World of Warcraft :-) I have two kids and three stepkids. I am also in college and work as an associate librarian. Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Michelle. Nice to have you here. I hope you are having fun. Sounds like you have busy life, but there is always time for crochet right? wink That is my winding down time. Crocheting definately helps to relax me after a busy day. I have been working on an afghan for my son and really need to start another one for my oldest. He is turning 18 this july....so not ready for that. Well off to crochet for now.

Hi Pinkroses,
Nice to have you here. I also do many different crafts, and am always trying to learn another one. I guess it is just so exhilarating to make something yourself. To know that you can make it unique and perhaps a bit unusal. I am also working on my first quilt. Course I have been working on for years. Eventually it will be an anniversary gift to myself and my husband. Hopefully sometime before our 50th smirk Well I am off to bed. Hope everyone has a great night.
