Oh, I was going to say... on my woe, I always eat an *early* supper. That gives me more time to burn it off! I hear ya Brenda! We try to eat dinner around 6pm. I eat even if DH isn't home yet, because sometimes he runs late. It doesn't mean I want to eat at 8pm however! Where are you going on your trip out of town? I hope you have a peaceful time and come away from it feeling renewed. DH has an appointment this morning then afterwards we are going out to lunch and to visit the house. We got another update. Everything is still on track. This waiting however is for the birds! IF (and that is a big "IF") I do any exercise today, it will just be some light upper body work. Janis, where are you? Check your email too. I've sent you a couple.

Good morning! It is a gorgeous morning. I had tea on the back porch. The birds are singing and we're finally seeing some green in the trees.

Hello ladies. Well, I am back from my trip... lighter in the wallet and heavier on the scales. We just went to Knoxville to eat and shop and hang out. There is so very little shopping in my hometown. We did have a Goody's but they closed the store about a month ago. Laura, I hear ya on the house. I am sure it is nice to visit it though and dream of all the things you'll get to do soon! Are you back on the wagon today? I am. I have to be. My fingers are swollen from so much sodium intake. Grrrr. Ooookkkkkk. Where is Janis? I hope she's ok and not feeling blah, or just down. We all know how that feels! Janis, I thought about you this weekend! I hope you are ok. Post soon and let us know, ok? *hugs*

Hi ladies! I'm sorry I've been missing in action. I've been having kind of a rough time, but I'm hoping the worse is behind me now. I went to the ER Friday evening around 5 pm because I was having constant chest discomfort. I almost went Thursday evening because I nearly had a fainting episode and felt horrible, but I held off. Called the Dr.'s office on Friday and they said if I'd been having chest pains for a month, then I really needed to go. So, to make a long story short, my mom went with me and it was an 8 hour ordeal. They took blood test, hooked me up to an EKG machine and took an xray. Everything came back just fine! They think it's all anxiety related...either that, or I may have pulled a muscle. I feel much better now. I really do think it was anxiety. I've been over-loaded now for a few months, worrying about Rick, running errands for his mom, tax office work...it was just too much for me. Some days I would work 8 hours, then go do shopping for Zel (Rick's mom) and that would often be like having another part time job...it would sometimes take me 4 hours. Anyway, I just stayed down this weekend and rested and napped. I feel better, but I've got shopping to do for Zel again today. (And yes, I totally count shopping as exercise because our Wal Mart is huge and I walk all over that store. :D) She even admitted that having the extra responsibility of taking care of her may have lead to the ER visit. Scary stuff, I'll tell you, but the Lord has been faithful to walk with me through it. I know He's got my back. Laura, I've been enjoying Deadliest Catch, but I miss Captain Phil! He was one of my favorites. I hope he's able to come back sometime during this season. Very sad news about the Kat Mai going down. For those guys to have survived is amazing! I'm so happy to hear that! I also like Dirtiest Jobs. How cool that your son got to meet Mike. Remember the one show where the sewer had exploded in the basement of this lady's home? I thought I would puke during that episode! Some of the stuff Mike does I could never do, but it is interesting. I hardly watch any tv shows. My friend has shows on tv every single night of the week and I'm just not like that. I flip around and a lot of time I end up finding something really cool to watch. Brenda, your eating plan does sound wonderful. I've been trying to eat smaller portions and eat healthier, low fat foods. I do tend to eat what I want on the weekends because that just seems to fit in with weekend plans, you know? Today, I'm going to take it easy and just eat small portions. Listen, last night I was watching The Travel Channel and they had a show on called Sandwich Paradise. I should have never started watching that darn show!!! They were making huge sandwiches made out of freshedly baked pastrami and the meat looked so tender and juciy! Oh my gosh, my mouth was literally watering and even though I'd had a nice roast beef dinner, my stomach started rumbling! I had to turn it off because there at 11:30 at night, I wanted a sandwich so bad! In fact, I still do! Lynne, I love having a pizza night. Last year during tax season, Friday nights became our pizza night, but I didn't do that this year. I was more eager to save my money than spend it this time. Did I ever mention that I almost became a hair stylist? I got into an ROP class in high school and was really interested in getting into it, but I always second guessed myself. I never thought I'd be good enough. Now I wish I'd stayed with it. Well, I had better get in the shower. I don't know what time Zel is expecting me, so I'll give her a call first. I want to get this done with before Hayley gets home from school. I'll talk to you all later on. (((hugs)))

Janis, how scary! I am so glad you're ok! Do you take any medication for anxiety?
I sure hope Rick's mom appreciates you. That's a lot of running around.
Listen, take care of yourself and if you have any more incidents like that go to the ER immediately. I'm sure your family was worried about you!
Girl, Food Network starves me OUT! When I first started trying to lose weight about a year ago, DD and I would have battles over that channel. I just COULD NOT watch it. It's better now but sometimes they show something and I just HAVE to make it that very next weekend!
I walked a mile around our loop this evening but I don't see myself doing that again. Our neighbor has rottweilers. They are big and scary looking. Why anyone would have that kind of dog just running loose beats me. They scare me.

Brenda, I have often thought of the Food channel as being my version of porn, as sick as that is! I love to watch it on the weekends, especially Paula because she's so funny, but there are times when I feel as if I'm staring at the channel the way someone might view porn and I don't like the way that makes me feel. I will turn it off then. However, food is such a part of our lives! It's a part of our birthday celebrations, our family gatherings, holidays...it's hard to get away from it. My Bible study leader only eats plain broiled chicken (no fat) and plain boiled rice. Her diet is very, very bland because she has fibromyalgia and fats in her diet cause her a great deal of pain. She's learned she would rather live life feeling good than eating good food and being miserable. We were studying how the people of Israel complained about the manna that God gave them to eat and she actually eats the same thing day in and day out like the Israelites. I admire her will power! Wish I could tap into a little of that! I walked all over Wal Mart, so I feel like I got my exercise in today. If only I'd do that everyday! Hey, if there were rotties running around my neighborhood, I wouldn't want to go for a walk, either. It was a rottie that killed our Frampton cat. I'm not fond of that breed, either. I will take good care of myself and I know that God is looking out for me, also. I am trying my very hardest to lose weight because I want to be healither and look better. Looking better is not my priority right now. But I'm sick of being over weight. Struggled with it my whole life. I'm contemplating getting the lap band done. I first have to research it and talk with people who've had it done before I finally make up my mind. I wish I could do this without any medical intervention. I'm going to really pray about this. Ok, I've got to go pick my girl up from handbell practice. I'll talk to you all in the morning.

I knew something was up! It's amazing what our bodies can do to us. I know what you mean about running errands. It's too bad Rick doesn't have any other family or friends who could help out with Zel. Is she paying you anything to help out? She should if you are putting in those kinds of hours. Why are you still worried about Rick? Is it because he is Hayley's father? Otherwise he isn't worth one of your thoughts. Is he still in jail? I'm not sure what you can do for him, other than pray. Laura, I've been enjoying Deadliest Catch, but I miss Captain Phil! He was one of my favorites. I hope he's able to come back sometime during this season. Very sad news about the Kat Mai going down. For those guys to have survived is amazing! I'm so happy to hear that! I'm happy that so many of them survived too, especially when you consider that it took the Coast Guard 7 HOURS to get to them! I also like Dirtiest Jobs. How cool that your son got to meet Mike. I flip around and a lot of time I end up finding something really cool to watch. Do you have cable? There's a pretty good variety to choose from. Brenda, I'm so glad you had a nice weekend and got a chance to "get away from it all". You're doin' GREAT staying OP! I did low carb for the last two days since I was off plan over the weekend. Now I'm back low cal/low fat. I'm gonna make spinach lasagna tonight, with a nice, big, fresh salad. Just went shopping yesterday and stocked up on new summer clothes. DH and I really needed them. Then went back today for a few more things. I don't think DH will be hearing about that!

Brenda, I forgot to ask you...are those rotreillers running loose in a yard, or in the street? There is NO WAY I would go anywhere near those scary dogs either. Matter of fact, I might just call animal control. They could end up mauling a person, or God forbid, a CHILD! I seriously hate those dogs! Lynne, how ya doin'? One of these days maybe you'll have a little more time to chat. Is anyone following LOST this season? DH and I have been faithfully watching it.

Hi Ladies! I had a really bummer of a day yesterday. I woke up, got myself ready to go to Bible study, but just didn't feel good at all! I felt kind of dizzy, headachy, no appetite...just really yucky. I ended up not going to Bible study because I was afraid I was on the verge of another panic attack. I just spend the day reading, which kept my mind off how I was feeling. Today, I feel much better! And guess what? I've lost 13 pounds since the 13th of April! I have been trying to watch my portions, trying to cut back, plus feeling like crapola for a few weeks now really helped me to lose some weight! I am very happy with that. Now I just need to keep it up! Laura, yes, I do worry about Rick, but not like I was before. He will be going into a program for drug/alcohol abuse and he will be getting counseling with a Christian lean on things. I'm thrilled with this! So, he'll be gone another 6 months, but that's ok. I want the Lord to move him...I want Rick to finally come to terms with how he's been living his life and I think this is only way He'll truly find the Lord. At least, that's what I'm praying for. Hey, darn it!!! I missed Deadliest Catch last night! I forgot all about it! I'll have to go looking for the repeat now. I've got some running around to do this morning and then I'm making Turkey & Biscuits for dinner tonight. A friend of mine has a blog where she posts some recipes from time to time. This is just something she made up and it was delicious when I made it the first time, and soooo simple, that I've decided to make it for dinner tonight. I haven't had much of an appetite lately, but when I thought of this, it did sound good to me. We've got cool weather here and over-cast skies. I love it! Perfect for this meal! I went searching yesterday and found a website on perimenopause and a lot of those symptoms pretty much sound like what I'm experiencing. At least if I kind of know what's happening to me, maybe I won't be so quick to panic and think it's some other underlying health issue. I hate to think of this phase of my life starting...what a bummer!!! I'll be talking to the Dr. about this when I see her. Maybe they can test me or something. Lynne, how are you doing? You're a busy gal, that's for sure. Hope life is treating you kindly. Brenda, how are you doing on your eating plan? Keep up the good work, girl! We can do this!!! I feel more motivated now than I have in a very long time and I do NOT want to return to the way I was. Maybe the Lord has allowed me to go through this rough spot with my health in order to wake me up so that I would start enjoying life better and start taking care of myself. For as little as I've been eating lately, I don't feel as if I've been missing out on anything. However, I will say this. I was thinking this morning about what kind of food sounded good to me, because honestly lately, I have putting food in my mouth only because I have to. Well, aside from the Turkey and Biscuits sounding good to me, what else do you suppose sounded good to me? Cheese enchiladas! I'm so bad! Ok, I've got to get myself ready to go this morning. I'll pop in later on when I can. Hope you all have a good day!
