Ok, I did 15 minutes on the gazelle and 10 minutes of weights and crunches. I'm gonna keel over now. *thud*
Good for you Brenda! You are SA-MOKIN'!!! Let's keep up this momentum! I didn't exercise today, but I *did* shop in 5 different stores today and made deposits at two different banks, so basically I FEEL like I walked at least 3 miles! Does that count? Tomorrow for SURE I am going to get up first thing and either get out and walk, or walk on the treadmill and lift weights etc. We're gettin' our MoJo back! I was TIRED all day today, but I think a lot of that could be from walking yesterday and also trying to stop taking my guai. I'm trying to wean myself off of it. WHY? I don't know. I just don't like the idea of being *dependant* on something the rest of my life! I also saw The Doctors show yesterday and they said that a lot of women who have hormonal imbalances mistake all their symptoms for fibromyalgia. Hmmmm. Made me think. I could be doing that. Suzanne Sommers wrote a book about it years ago which I read, but I never followed through and got on bioidentical hormones. I want to check into it again. I know we have a compounding pharmacy around here somewhere. Definitely post what you're eating. I'd love to see it! I gave myself a free day today. I baked up some of those tater tots! Didn't care much for the info on the nutritional label though. For only NINE of them there are 8 grams of fat and 160 calories. NOT GOOD. You do not wanna know how many I had. About 20 I think. OY VEY! I guess that was my breakfast. Lunch was a couple of chimichungas with sour cream. Those are very high fat too. OY. But dinner was VEDDY reasonable. My famous stuffed pitas. Those are very low calorie, very low fat, (because I make them with B/S chicken breast chunks and low fat salad dressing,) and very high in fiber. They make me feel like I'm doing something good for my body when I eat 'em. And for a snack later I'll have a watermelon slice.

Brenda, wake up! BRENDA...WAKE UP!!! Hey, you did vetty, vetty good! I am proud of you! I have not done too much today. I ran to the bank (well, not literally!), then to the post office, then to get water and then to the grocery store. I'm back home now and really don't feel like doing much of anything today. My friend and I were supposed to get together and work on our Bible study, but neither of us felt like it. It's a lovely, cool day today...YAY...but I am just feeling lazy. I plan on making my Chicken Rice Pilaf tonight for dinner and then it'll be an early evening of tv watching for me because Hayley has went to spend the night at her friend's house. Should be a nice, peaceful night. Chicken rice pilaf sounds delicious. I would LOVE to get your recipe for that Janis! I got some interesting Pasta-Roni at the store. It's garlic and olive oil vermicelli. Sounds yummy huh? I'll serve it with either beer can chicken or B/S chicken breasts, seasoned with fajita seasoning and cooked on the grill with a little Pam. (Veddy low calorie/low fat.) DH doesn't much like chicken with the skin on it, so he's not crazy about the beer can chicken, or even the rotisserie chicken I buy at the store. Anyway, I'll serve that dinner with a big fresh salad too. So, what's on tv on Thursday nights? Anything good? If not, I guess I could pull out my Everybody Loves Raymond reruns or my Frasier reruns or my Andy Griffith reruns or my I Love Lucy reruns or my Golden Girls reruns. Maybe there will be a good movie to watch! I LOVE those Golden Girls reruns! I think I've seen every.single.episode of Golden Girls. They are on Lifetime quite often and another channel, but I can't remember what channel it is. Andy Griffith we watch a lot of too, because it's usually on TVLand around 7pm and sometimes we can't find anything else to watch at that time. Tonight on regular tv Grey's Anatomy is on ABC at 9 and over on CBS at 9 CSI is on. I love both those shows. It's usually better to watch the one on ABC though, because the CBS shows (most the crime dramas anyway,) I can see for free and with NO commercials on the ON DEMAND channels. Have you watched any of Deadliest Catch yet? I saw it listed the other night and wanted to watch it but DH didn't. I need to catch up! Laura, how are you doing today? What's going on with your weather? We were already up to 107 just a few days ago, but today it's a glorious 78. We had a nice, cool, overcast morning which bled over into the afternoon and just started to burn off about an hour ago. Maybe I'll have to put one of the blankets back on my bed tonight! I hope! I love for it to be cold and then have nice, soft, snuggly warm blankets piled on me. It'll be cold? You mean like in the 60's? *grin* To me that is cold! It sounds lovely. I hope you enjoy the cooler days and nights. And I hope it is a nice relaxing evening for you without your girl. Are you all done with tax season now? We've been around 81-82 degrees this week. The sky has been absolutely gorgeous. Just that bright blue with the puffy white clouds. I'm not sure I could ever live in another state any more since the sky is so beautiful here. I've become spoiled. *waves hi* to Lynne! How you doin'?

Just got home from work and finished my pizza. Our son and family come over on Thursday nights to watch Survivor with DH so we order pizza. I don't care for Survivor so I'm upstairs on my computer. I work in the salon 3 days a week. I am independent so I work my own hours. (I rent a booth) I don't do hair extensions but have watched them done in several different ways. I know at least one woman who would never be without her extensions. She has never been able to grow long hair - not even to her shoulders.

I could NOT get to sleep last night! Was up until 2:30am when DS came in. We ended up talking and it actually helped me get to sleep. He *once again* assured me that staying out until 2 or 3 in the morning is what young people do. Once you get so far away from it you really don't remember that. I worry about him too much I guess. Anyway I ended up sleeping until 8:30am! That is really late for me. Sooooo, I'm getting out much later than I thought, but still getting out for a walk. It's just too pretty NOT to! Janis, I watched the last 15 minutes of Deadliest Catch last night. The same teams are in it, which is cool. You feel like you know them. There were 3 giant storms which converged in the Arctic Ocean, which caused a cod fishing boat to go under. They showed the various teams reacting to the "May Day" call. And they are in the process now of showing the Coast Guard rescuing those who survived. (It took place 900 miles from where the lobster fishermen were, so, they couldn't go to their aid.) It appears it will be 10 out of 12 crew members who survive. They haven't shown the survivors yet, except for next week's previews. They did show last night the CG pulling a guy out who had died. When the water is 40 degrees, it only takes minutes. It was sad. Lynne, I've seen some pretty bad stories about those hair extentions. Don't they ruin your regular hair? We don't watch Survivor either. Just never appealed to us. *shrug* What do you like to watch? I'm mostly into the CSI type programs or the Law and Orders'. We tried to watch Southland last night, (a police drama set in L.A.,) but it was so STUPID we turned it off after 10 minutes or so. It was like a reality tv show which takes place in the land of the clueless. Seriously, it was like watching Dumb, Dumber and DUMBEST! And there were lots of boob shots. I guess a fifteen year old wrote the script. *rolleyes* Brenda, what are you gonna do for exercise today? I think I'll just do a 1 hour walk, and then whatever I have the energy to do when I get back. I'm goin' out without breakfast, (except for coffee,) so, that might not be much! What is everyone doin' today?

Good morning ladies. I was OP yesterday. Last night I made homemade waffles (breakfast for dinner kinda thing) and I used this low calorie syrup made with Splenda. At least the front of the bottle said Splenda. It was actually made with sorbitol and let me tell you, it almost did me in. Oh.my.Lord. I will never, ever again use that product. I had a horrible night of stomach cramps and nausea. It has subsided somewhat today but not all the way. Anyway, today is a new day and I hope you all are well. Lynne, it's nice to see you in here. You are a busy lady! Janis, I love watching the Idol's families! Remember Elliot's mom from a few seasons back? I'm pretty sure she passed away not too long ago. I loved her. To be honest, Idol is the only thing I watch on TV besides Fox News. I don't think I've seen any other tv in years! Oh wait now, I do watch Food Network from time to time. I'd like your recipe for Chicken Rice Pilaf too if you feel like posting it. Laura, I am going to try the gazelle again. My legs have that 'almost but not quite sore' feeling. I kinda like that. And yes! Your walking around stores counts! I'm gonna count shopping as my weekend exercise! Listen, I'm interested in that Suzanne Sommers info too. She looks great! I don't know how to get started though. What's the name of the book? Your pitas sound so good. Tell us how you make them. Okay, here's my eating plan. Remember I am doing the Dr. Oz thing? Well, he has the pick it and stick it thing that I just loved. The rest of it I don't use very much. But the PI&SI works for my personality type because it takes the drama out of food choices. I don't have to think about what I'm going to eat... I just do it. Breakfast... Low calorie yogurt with a very small sprinkle of granola on top Lunch... Ham, fat free cream cheese on diet bread with a serving of pretzels (23 to be exact) Supper... Whatever I want (within reason) You know I take the weekends off. This is why my weight loss has been slower than the seven year itch but it is also how I've been able to stick to this woe. Plus, giving myself a meal of my choice EVERY.SINGLE.DAY makes it feel like I'm not dieting AT.ALL. It works for me. Or I should say, it will work better for me once I hit my stride in this exercise thing. Thank you guys so much for the encouragement!!! It means so much. Janis, I remember you once saying that if you felt a certain food was not available to you on a certain woe, you immmediately craved that food. That's why I think my woe would be suited to you. Not so many restraints!

Brenda, the gazelle sounds good. Have you done it yet? Counting shopping for exercise isn't really "cheating", is it? Not when you're out for 3 hours just running from place to place. I am looking for a new set of drinking glasses, so that took me to a couple of extra places the other day too. You know how it is. I walked an hour today. YAY! I had to wear a sleeved t-shirt because I got sunburn on my shoulders from the other day. OUCH. It still hurts, especially because it's right where my bra strap cuts. But it was GORGEOUS out there today since it was a mild temperature and very windy too! The grass everywhere just looks *terrible* though. We went through such a dry spell and haven't had enough rain this year to make this tough Florida grass turn green again. Many places are starting to turn green again, but whatever they planted at the park, it is still brown and dry. YUCK. When I got home I showered (again,) and ate a stuffed pita. ( Had a lot of the salad left over from last night.) Then vacuumed the whole house, dusted up here in my bedroom, cleaned the kitchen, and refreshed my potpourri. (You know how you just pour the scented oil on it and mix it up? You gotta keep it smellin' nice. ) I mixed some apple cinnamon with vanilla and it smells just heavenly! Janis, what are you up to today? Are you gonna be swimming this year at your sister's pool? I wish I could swim somewhere where it was private! As it stands I wouldn't go out in public lookin' like THIS! Brenda, forgot to mention, your eating plan sounds VERY easy and very reasonable. Really...if we would just eat healthy foods, and watch the portions, I think we'd all drop LOTS of weight! I really think it is wise to take the weekends off too. That way you make it more like a life-long plan, rather than just a lose-weight-quickly-DIET. Diets do NOT work. Not for any length of time anyway.

Brenda, what was the brand of that syrup? Normally I would want to try it, but in this case I want to AVOID it!
We usually buy the Lite syrup. It's made with sugar but has half the calories of regular syrup.

To be honest, Idol is the only thing I watch on TV besides Fox News. I don't think I've seen any other tv in years! Oh wait now, I do watch Food Network from time to time. I forgot to tell you girls this, but the other day DS waited on (DS works at a restaurant now,) Michael Rowe from the tv show Dirty Jobs. DS said he was a great guy... really easy goin', and that they talked a long time. They were here in town filming one of the weekly segments. Brenda, that show is pretty funny! Family viewing too. I don't watch it often, but I've never seen anything un-family-like on there. It is GROSS though, but that's what makes it so funny! It's on Discovery Channel. I'd like your recipe for Chicken Rice Pilaf too if you feel like posting it. Me too Janis, when you've got time. Listen, I'm interested in that Suzanne Sommers info too. She looks great! I don't know how to get started though. What's the name of the book? It's called Slim and Sexy Forever, with a subtitle of "The Hormone Solution". It's a lime green color. She spells everything out in there about how to look for a compounding pharmacy. I believe your doctor has to write the actual prescription for the hormones, or else the doc at the compounding pharmacy can. (If I'm remembering that correctly.) Haven't cracked that book open in ages.) Your pitas sound so good. Tell us how you make them. Super easy. You just shred romaine lettuce, dice a few fresh roma tomatoes, dice about half a large cucumber, dice a medium onion, add a can of (rinsed and drained) black beans, and cut 2 cooked b/s chicken breasts into chunks. Then I pour salad dressing over it all. I usually use the light 3 cheese ranch, but this time used light Casear and it was just as good. I also usually use whole wheat pita bread and just cut them in half, so that you can easily make two pockets. But this time I used oat pita bread and didn't like it as much. The taste was great, but the bread was so soft that it just fell apart and we had to use forks to eat it. Didn't like that too much. I'd rather hold 'em to eat 'em.

Laura, that pita sounds delish! I'm going to have to check our local stores to see what kinds I can find. The syrup that did me in was the Walmart knock off brand. I have quit trusting the label after that! I checked and our library has the S. Somers book. I'll pick it up when I return Bill O's Culture Warriors. She looks incredible. I need to check out the Discovery channel. DD is about to outgrow Disney and I might have a chance at getting the remote again. You are doing so great at your walking. I plan on picking up some pepper spray or something this weekend. I don't dare walk our loop with all those dogs everywhere! Then I think I'll hit it too. I need to go start packing. I am so excited just to get out of town for the weekend!
