Sigh... I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much the the forum of late. Life has been insanely busy, and I keep waiting for things to slow down. I thought once Spring hit, I'd have more time, but the kids are involved in more things, not less, and I have increasing obligations of my own.

What do you do when you're feeling crazy busy?

Sorry to hear things are so crazy for you. How old are your kids? Take a deep breath and have a glass of wine after the kids go to bed. It doesn't make the craziness go away, but you feel better for about an hour. wink

Hi Mrs. P-

My kids at home are 12, 9, and 4. I don't drink much, but I'll take your recommendation on the deep breath. I do find that deep breathing learned in yoga and childbirth classes can relax me and provide some peace of mind.

thanks!

Sorry things have been so hectic, Lorel. When things get like that, I try to prioritize. For instance, coming here -- not a top priority when other things ranking higher are on the list. And I try to carve out time (okay, at this point, it isn't too hard -- ds is in college, so what's my excuse other than being lazy?) for whatever I need at the time.

Alternatively, a piece of chocolate can go a long way to calming my nerves -- my drug of choice! ;-)

slow down? our spring/summer has been thrown into a dervish courtesy of hubby's job's travel demands. he's in germany now, we'll all go to SC 2 days after he gets back, then he's back in Germany, and I start packing us for AL and try to catch up with the 30 family homeschool group i'm responsible for running! but, don't worry, we have it in writing that travel is not to exceed 10% of his hours. grrr! it's been more than 30% for almost 2 years. whew! sorry! guess that's what i do when i feel stressed out crazy...vent at you all! lol

think i'm heading to the kitchen for that chocolate now...

German chocolate ist sehr gut! I would definitely take part in an indulgence of that sort! Zandes, it must be tough to have him away so often. My DH travels 4-6 times a year, but only for a few days at a time. It's not long enough to be a serious challenge.

jawohl lorel! lol

is there any way to take one day off from your obligations and spend it alone or with dh? one day of peace (possibly at the hands of a willing grandma that never gets to see them, or a cousin you pay for the day) can go a long, LONG way. even an overnight with a late pickup time the next day would be blissful, i'm sure. sometimes we need a few moments to feel like we exist as a person outside of our children and their needs - though we would never trade it long term. i think this is especially true when hs'ing on top of it all.

DH and I used to have a regular date night, which sort of fell by the wayside. I am going to make an effort to revive the custom.
