I was getting monthly migraines that at first lasted a couple of days, then got longer and longer til they never really went away. I started getting PMS symptoms pretty badly, too, which I hadn't had before. Because I'm 46, I thought it was the onset of menopause, and began looking into hormone replacement therapy.
But, I had heard that coffee can cause pretty bad headaches. I had also began to notice that my morning coffee wasn't giving me the lift that it had before - I thought I was becoming immune to the one cup, so I would sometimes have another a couple of hours later. But instead of feeling better, I felt even worse. Cranky, confused, exhausted, and head-achy. So, I stopped drinking coffee to see if that would help. Well, after 4 days of horrific body aches, and two weeks of grogginess, I started feeling much better. It's been over two months now, and I haven't had a headache, my PMS is gone - my energy and mental clarity are back, and I feel better than I have in a very long time.
I highly recommend to anyone who has begun to develop migraines, and they drink coffee, that they give quitting a try. It's way better than taking meds for a condition brought on by something you're ingesting!
Anyway, when I saw this thread I thought it was important to share my story.
