I love using hot oil on my long hair. I find it makes a huge difference in how shiny and smooth the hair is. I've heard this from other women with long hair too - that they get compliments right away when they use an oil treatment.

For some reason it is nearly impossible to find hot oil treatments in many stores any more. Maybe people feel they are too much of a hassle? I'm not sure why - people spend far more money and products that do nothing at all. Oil has a definite, noticeable beneficial effect on my hair. I was thrilled when I found this available on Amazon.

TreSemme is different than other oils I've tried in that it SELF warms. Don't ask me how it does this. You don't have to sit it in a cup of hot water. You don't even have to hold the oil container under the hot tap before you get into the shower! You simply pop off the plastic cap and somehow the tube heats up. I imagine it's the same sort of technology that lets you "snap" a hand warmer and then it instantly gets warm within your mittens. Some sort of bizarre chemical reaction with air.

However it does it, the result is great. You use this for about a minute before you shampoo. Then you shampoo and condition your hair as usual. Your hair is now soft, silky, and lovely. This isn't a "cleaning agent". It's a hair healthening agent, a softening agent. Many cultures before ours used olive oil and other oils to keep their hair in good shape. It's only surprising that in modern times many people have forgotten this step.

Highly recommended!

My only real caveat is I don't know how they get it to "instantly heat up". It sort of concerns me. I wouldn't want to rip open one of those mitten warmers and put the chemicals inside on my head, for example! I would really rather heat it myself, naturally, rather than having odd chemicals inside this package to do that for me. However, since I can't identify which of the odd chemicals in the ingredient list do the self-warming, to know if they are dangerous for my scalp, it's hard for me to complain too much. It's just a vague worry, not an actual concern with proof.
