I am a Returned Missionary, which means I completed a voluntary two year mission to Florida, it was a spanish speaking mission. For two years, my responsibility was to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone and everyone.
Most of the people I met and taught (and yes learned from) were some form of Catholic. One of the many questions that visitors to our churches would ask is why there wasn't a cross. Yes, as Jamie has said, we celebrate what the cross symbolizes, however she correctly stated that Mormons focus on the Resurrection.
Other faiths are not right or wrong for their beliefs, specifically the belief in the cross. In many hospitals we can find a cross hanging on the wall in a patients room, it provides comfort and peace. In the military and other civil organizations, the symbol of a chaplian is a cross.
The cross is not a bad symbol, someones belief is not wrong. I guess the best way to say it is if the shoe fits, wear it. To each his own.
The central point to Heavenly Father's plan is free agency, the right and power to choose for yourself. God gives us the choices but the "making of the choice" is up to us. God would cease to be God if he forced us into anything.
I respect and support and honor my Brothers and Sisters that believe in the cross and that display it in their homes and workplaces.
Respect and tolerance should be universal.
God lives and he respects and loves all his children.
