I'm scared to ask BN----how many do you have? I started with one----only about 5 short months ago---and now I have 5-----that's an average of 1 per month!----good grief by the end of this year I could have 13!!! I've got to stop---is there a support group for this, or have I found it.... ..cuz you all are so supportive...

Ok, I just put the thermometers in the tanks, and one is reading about 82F----the other is right at 80F. They are in different rooms of the house (Living room, and office, since that is where I split my time) Herbie and Floyd are in the 82F tank, and they are as active as can be----should I worry or is that temp ok? I'm getting ready to set up a light on the new purple one too---and will get another thermometer tomorrow to test his little tank.....don't know why I didn't think of that while I was there.......amateur---

Blu,
I only have 3 right now. Sweetie, Pinky Pescado and Grapel. Although I saw this cool 2 gallon tank on e-bay -- had a divider that makes 4 sections. . . Maybe another girl? And then I'd have the 3 tanks I have now. eek I'm restraining myself for now. Otherwise we'd be swimming with fish every where!

Nannynan, I don't see that you have posted a pic of Graple just yet. Did you see my new "purple" guy? He's really reddish-purple, but close enough. Bettanut is going to try her hand at shipping and send me a crowntail when they are old enough---keeping our fingers crossed. I haven't found any of the "fancy" betta around here, so I'm excited to have one of those here.

and what's one more fish anyway huh??? hehe.

have a great day!!

Hey guys!! I don't have a digital camera to take a picture of Zeta, but I would like him to get to full health before I do that anyway. Shouldn't be too long now. His finds are iridescent and his body is purple. Not red, not blue. However, if I shine a flashlight on him, I can see red and blue, but without the light he is all purple. If I look down from the top of the tank, his back has this gorgous streak of brilliant purple. I would love to show you picture of my 2 year old Alfie. He is the most beatiful fish I have ever seen. Teal, red, green, but all his colors are like perfectly placed. And his skin or scales or whatever actually look feathery instead of scaly. It is not a disease, it is just how he looks, I mean like a painted canvas. Does anyone know what I mean by feathery?

Blu- I just saw your purple picture. I see how you mentioned you can notice the red and blue. I don't see the red or blue in Zeta at all, withought a flashlight. I can't beleive he was just the one I won at the boardwalk and just so happens to be purple. He isn't as pretty as yours since he doesn't have the full colored fins and tail, but he is getting more pretty the healthier he becomes. I am just glad to have saved his life thanks to all of you here. Therefore, you all saved him too. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

Once he is better, i will try to get a pic for you all. I should try to get one of Alfie to share as well, but his large bowl is made of a very thick glass so i don't know how the pic would even come out. If so, how do you even post a pic?
