I have a recipe for 'Beer Bread' that I make quite often because it is so quick and easy. I am on a search for more recipes using beer as an ingredient and was about to start a post requesting recipes but then I checked the Bellaonline Beer site and found a long list of such recipes. Wow! I can't wait to try them. Thanks Carolyn!

I have a very simple beer batter that I use for all sort of things - but the most popular around our house are deep fried chicken nuggets and mushrooms. (My brother also like to do those onion blossoms or onion rings)

The batter consists of
2 cups plain allpurpose flour
1 Tbsp garlic powder (NOT garlic salt)
1 Tbsp Lawrys seasoning salt (or any comparable seasoning salt)
1-2 bottles of light beer - you need to add enough beer that the mixture becomes smooth and like a cake batter, but not too thin, or else it slides right off whatever you are trying to coat!

You can also add other spices like chipotle powder, cayenne, tobasco, etc. if you want to give it that extra heat kick (my kids don't like the spicy, though

Then you coat you chicken nuggets, and deep fry in 350 degree oil, aproximately 3-5 minutes until golden. This batter will not get extremely brown. It will turn a light golden color, and then it will burn - so you have to keep and eye on it. But the taste is worth it!

I have a great Guinness stew recipe, but the weirdest, and best thing I make are Guinness brownies. They rock.
