Hi Leah,
I've actually never heard of Time Management month. It's amazing how fast a week goes by so time management is very important. When I'm working on certain tasks like writing my articles, it's very easy to get lost in time and all of a sudden hours have gone by.

Hi Diane:

I just happened to find National Time Management Month while looking for Awareness days to write about. I think awareness days/weeks/months are VERY important as they can help jump start certain things you want in your life. February is also National Boost Self-Esteem month!

Time management -hum - the best advice I've ever received is to PRIORITIZE each day. Decide what is the single most important task, and start it. Stay with it until it is completed. Every time you are interrupted, go back to that initial task until it is complete. When I force myself to do this, I am amazed at what I can accomplish. But it is a difficult thing to do when live gets in the way smile

Hi sandy,

I agree with that advice. It's a matter of focus.

Sometimes what I do, when I'm a good time manager, is to first thing in the morning, finish the priority item I ran out of enthusiasm the night before. I run out of steam around 6pm, but I'm like a new person in the morning!

I find for me it really helps to choose 3 must-do tasks for a day. I might have all sorts of ideas, but 3 things must be done. If I get just those 3 things done by the end of the day, I feel really happy!

Lisa:

Between 1-3 things a day is doable. The other day when I was loading up my bag with way to much more stuff than I could possibly do, I had a revelation, which went something like this:

"Leah, you've done alot in your 39 years, there is no need to JAM pack your bag. One project when you're commuting is all you really need."

Then when I come home I can put some time into two more and I've been productive for the day!
