You do low-carb diet right? So the 100 calorie packs are probably not an option for you. See, this is why you are probably much more healthy than I am! smile

Happy Birthday Barbara!

Right now my food weakness is Low Mein. I have no idea why I am craving this stuff like crazy, but I cannot pass an oriental restaurant without being severly tempted (and usually giving in) by noodles.

What makes it even worse is that I KNOW these are going to make me sick every time - and I still eat them!

Barbara - the 100 calorie packs are about letting you eat smaller portions of junk food, which is a good weaning philosophy, but my hope is not to be eating junk food at all smile So it's not a good thing to have "small portions of junk" during the day as a daily habit. I realize it's a tough thing to do when you're used to eating junk all day so I definitely did wean myself slowly off of things like that.

Right now I'm eating fresh strawberries as a treat. I'd rather have my treat be something fresh and natural, vs Oreo Cookies in smaller containers. So that is something I had to work hard to get to. And of course I still give into temptations at times. I just fight so it doesn't become a daily habit.

Lisa - That makes sense. I've been craving Lorna Doones, of all things, lately, so I bought the 100 calorie packs of those and the 100 calorie microwave popcorn. It seems to be enough to keep my from buying (thus eating!) the entire package of regular Lorna Doones.

Yes definitely it is a GREAT method of weaning yourself. Anyone who eats "from the bag" should move to a small-portion system. Portion out smaller amounts of the food and take only that smaller portion with you to where you are going to eat it. It can make a huge difference.

Now I want to admit here that I had a chocolate craving last night. Usually I'll eat a low carb chocolate and be done. However, for some reason we were out of them and with my son home for college break we had a sleeve of Oreos in the house. I took them to the couch and ate HALF THE SLEEVE!!! Good God. I must have been insane. I was up all night long with the sugar rush and I had literally gained 3 pounds the next morning. Coincidence? I think not!

As soon as he goes back to college on Sunday he is taking ALL the cookies with him!!! Those things are dangerous.
