Has anyone here ever been to Krakow? I'd been hearing from various places that it was a pretty fun place to go, but they just did a feature on traveling there in this month's More Magazine and it was so BEAUTIFUL to look at - the pictures in the article were very pretty. I love things like old churches and cathedrals, and St. Mary's looks lovely.

Has anyone been? What's it like?

It is indeed a beautiful place, chosen 5th best city in Europe in 2006 by Travel and Leisure magazine and one of the 7 world's hottest places in 2007 by Orbitz.

It is a lovely city. Don't miss the old Jewish section of the city and the Jewish cultural center.

Yes, Kazimierz is lovely:) especially so unique during the Jewish Culture Festival. But if somebody plans to visit Krakow, you can always take part in Jewish Music concerts in Galicia Jewish Museum. They play them regularly. I went there recently - great atmosphere! Industrial interior design, small concert room and marvellous music!
Apart from this cosy restaurants, pubs etc. All in all - I honestly recommend:))))

I agree, Krakow is a beautiful city indeed and if you plan to see it I can recommend a tour operator for Eastern Europe Isram World of Travel, based in New York. They offer a variety of upscale tours to Eastern Europe including Poland and Krakow. Their Jewish Heritage tour includes Krakow in their itinerary, as well as Warsaw, Prague and Budapest. It was a very interesting trip through the Eastern Europe. It was lavish and worth every penny. You also have a chance to meet the new friends once you join a tour.
