A lie is a lie. So what qualifies a little white lie from a big one? Is it a little white lie when you don't want to hurt someones feelings, tell your kids there is a Easter bunny? and are these white lies okay then?
I think that we go through life telling white lies for a whole bunch of reasons.

The lies I talk about in my article are self-serving lies. The ones we tell to gain something or possible to avoid penalty. I think God cares about those lies.
Contributing to the fantasy of the Easter Bunny or something like that -- It is done in love and if not carried to excess, I doubt that God holds it against us.

I also, honestly feel that God does not hold those types of white lies against us.
I misunderstood your original statement, I am new here and didnt realize there was an article attached.
I do agree that self-serving lies to prevent punishment for a wrong done that God cares about those and there will be a consequence if not in this life for sure in the next.

I was just at a church service where my husband's quartet was singing. Was a wonderful service, this service was all singing with the choir and the quartet. The minister was away at a devotional workshop with the assistant ministers. The music was very uplifting. I wish there would have been more people in the church to enjoy this beautiful music.
On the way home we passed a Casino and the parking lot was full.
Was does that say?

It says a lot about the state of the world. People are looking for a quick fix to problems and that empty feeling inside when they could get so muc more from Jesus Christ.

I never wanted to start getting my kids into Santa or the Easter Bunny or the tooth fairy or any icon like that because I am always afraid that when they grow up and realize they were fake, would they feel the same way about Jesus?
