Hi Everyone: I posted previously under another topic on this Forum, but because I am new here then I will introduce myself. I live in Canada, actually Calgary, the Stampede City of Alberta. I learned to crochet from my father's mother (granny). I had started a doilly with size 10 crochet cotton. I showed it to my granny and she tried to help me learn what I was doing. The doilly would not lay flat for me and it wasn't for a number of years before I learned how to slip stitch and join my chain in a circle. I have been crocheting now for about 50 years, as I was about 10 years old when I started. I have been a knitter for a time too but after some 70 doillies, 30 in one year because my mother had me make them for Christmas gifts, I have had to give up the finer work and do more yarn work. Carpol tunnel put me off for a time but if I don't crochet then I may stop breathing. Many of you may feel that way too. Give up crocheting is like asking me to stop breathing.
