Seen It? Are you a woman over 45? Well....

This is not, as stated in several reviews I saw:
"A movie about a bunch of women being bitchy to each other..."

This is a film based on a 1936 Broadway play by Clare Booth Luce which became a movie by the award winning director George Cukor in 1939..

It is a "comedy of manners" ...although in this case it IS mostly Bad manners that are explored...

Admittedly, I liked the 1939 movie much more and would advise that you see them both...

I watched the 1939 The Women not too long ago. It holds up as great entertainment. I plan to watch the remake and do a comparison.

I think I remember seeing it on the big screen when I was fairly young (my age is showing) and being entranced by the color insert, rather like Dorothy coming from black and white Kansas and waking up in Oz.

It is a remarkable comedy! The Clare based on 1936 Broadway game But Ljus who became cinema the director George Kukorom who has received the award in 1939. I advise all it to look the to girlfriends.
