I like granola too and it makes a very tasty snack anytime. I try to have a serving of fruit in the morning usually a fruit cup or an apple. Add a little peanut butter to the apple and it's even better (also filling).

Speaking of filling foods...have you tried the South Beach Living meal bars? This is how they look:

They are high in protein and fiber, so keep you with that full feeling. Makes for quick breakfast/lunch. grin

At the moment, I am on a toast and peanut butter kick with half a banana. I am a fan of granola and granola bars, but prefer homemade to the commercial ones. You have much more control over what goes into them and can avoid all the artificial flavors, additives, and preservatives.

Here are some of favorite granola bar recipes.

I love nuts and legumes. Something new I've discovered is Roasted Chickpeas. So easy to make. You just drain and pat dry canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans) with a paper towel. Toss with a tiny bit of olive oil and roast in a 400 degree oven for about 30-40 minutes. Be sure not to burn.

When they come out of the oven, sprinkle with garlic salt and any other desired spices (chili powder, cumin, etc.)

They taste best when cooled. A great protein snack anytime!

well the great thing about the bars is they contain no high fructose corn syrup which is a big plus in my book!
