What is going on in 2009? What will the trends be? What colors will be in? Post all the latest, when you hear of it.

Hello,

I am confident that sea glass jewelry will be the hot item this year. The industry seems to have taken off. There are social networks and artisans springing up everywhere. Magazine articles, books and apparently 20/20 is doing a feature as well. I can see why, the colors are incredible, the shapes and sizes are all unique and there is a story behind each piece making for beautiful jewelry and wonderful conversation pieces.

I agree that there are so many beautiful glasses that are just coming alive in new designs. Glass blowing is back in full force and so is faux sea glass, and glass beads of all kinds. It is endless. I am so glad that people are becoming more unique in their choices of jewelry. We were not all meant to look the same.

I went a walk down by the shore a couple of weeks ago with the sole purpose of finding some glass - I think it's probably the first time I DIDN'T find even 1 piece. I'll just have to take the dog for another walk - but I'm waiting til the snow's gone!

With the explosion of the sea glass industry, now comes an even greater shortage of these trash to treasure gems from the sea. This shortage will make sea glass even more desirable.

Spring colors in the fashion magazines are in the line of earth tones. Interesting to see the pale oranges and many different shades of green, browns and tans.
So many different types of jewelry made with natural stones, gems and sea glass would compliment these colors wonderfully.
