Hi, Dale. Here's another question for you. I have a table that was my grandmother's. She was a big user of Pledge spray back in the 60's! Now there's a waxy build up that is only apparent when glasses are allowed to deposit condensation on the table or when you put a hot dish on it without a trivet. The table gets TEMPORARY white spots wherever water sat or heat was introduced. The spots always disappear in about 24 hours.

Is there any way to remove the wax build-up without harming the finish--and without having to refinish?

Thanks for your help, and Merry Christmas.

Hi Cela1

There are several wax removers on the market. I have used a product called Rosini's Red 1 wax remover, and I'll give you a URL here for it.

Any paint or refinishing place in your local hardware store will have some type of wax remover, and there are many. Goo Gone with some 0000 steel wool will also work, just be careful with the steel wool.

I hope that helps a bit!

Take care
