Are there any baby names that always seem to trip you up, in terms of pronunciation?

For me, it's Etienne. I never took French, so French rules of pronunciation don't come naturally to me -- I always have to make an effort to remember them.

I've always found Bartholomew impossible.

Even seeing it written out and saying it slowly, I still feel like I'm doing it wrong. It's the 'mew' that gets me. I doesn't sound like a proper syllable. It feels like the end of the word just slurs off. I always want to say 'mule' instead.

Another tricky French name I forgot about until just now -- Didier (deed-yay).

My niece's name is Aurelia. I took me a few months to figure out how to say this one....

A'Nyuasha - my nephew
A'Daja - my niece
Je'Siah - my nephew

You wouldn't think Christiana would be a hard name to pronounce but everyone seems to read it as Christine. I use to let it slide but no longer........I now correct everyone to the correction.........with age comes attitude.

I have facing problem on chinies and japanes name

LOL...no I meant they look at Christiana but say Christine. I usually pronounce it the middle one but will except all the others as I am giving you points for location and accents.
