Like it or not the holiday season is approaching, fast. Whether you celebrate Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanza, Yule, or simply the end of 2008, Canadians have their own unique traditions.

What family holiday traditions will you be performing this year? Or what new traditions will you be creating?

Hi there from Nova Scotia !

Well, yesterday we dug out the traditional Nativity scene I've been toting with me around the world since for about 35 years. Our 3 little ones' eyes lit up as I plugged in the lights.

Although not churchgoing folks, I am so happy to share the meaning of Christmas with my young 'uns, and want to start teaching them some traditional Christmas music; carols I sang every year growing up in the UK.

Plus, we've just watched Mr Bean's Xmas for the first time this year

Our favorite Christmas tradition is decorating cookies. We did it when I was a child and now my kids and their cousins are decorating Christmas cookies every year, plus my sister's grandkids.

We spend a whole day in December baking and decorating and drinking hot spiced cider and cocoa. It's lots of fun.
