Hi all,

Sorry but I just have to rant about next doors kids lol. Not looking for advice, just letting off steam. Feel free to rant about your neighbours kids as well. :P

We only just moved into this place and the unfenced front yard is on a corner block, so the yard is pretty big. Next door they have 2 little girls (5 & 7 perhaps) and a 14 year old boy.

Their front yard is fenced but the gate is never locked and the kids treat our front yard as an extension of their yard.

After the day was spent mowing the lawn and it was looking nice, the parents had friends over and so the teen was with his friends, was hanging on our lawn and when he finished with his cup, he dumped that along with a large coke bottle and a two thirds full bottle of Jim Beam. Like wtf? What is a 14 year old kid doing drinking Jim Beam?!? He was also playing with a ball and kicking it near our window. we threw his ball in their bin along with the empty bottles.

Everyday time the girls play in the pool they are screaming which is fine in small amounts but the other day while on my computer which is in the room that faces the pool, it went on for over an hour, (this little girl screams at the top of her lungs for the sake of it). My ears were so sore and not once did her parents come in the yard and tell her to shut up.

They are forever outside of the yard roaming the street with the youngest carrying her teddy bear. But what really takes the cake is the two girls along with a 3 year old boy came to the door while I was not around and asked a grown man if they could vist and come inside! When told no, 5 mins later they were knocking on the door again with one of the girls saying I want to go inside. Like what the hell??? No harm would have come to them in my house BUT what if they did that somewhere else and a pedophile lived there?

The mother is always inside the house and not even her mother that lives there with the parents comes out to watch these kids. Absolutely disgusting!

I have good kids on my road thank goodness. They can be a nuisance sometimes but they know how to take NO for an answer. I think I might be tempted to report the unattended children to Child Services----it does not sound safe to me!

Kids, adults, or dogs can all be bad neighbors. In your case, the problem seems to be the parents. That is often the case. Bad parents, annoying kids.

My neighbors are pretty much okay. Except a few houses down sometimes their kids are obnoxious. We were working outside once and they threw a pine cone at us and told us to shut up. (We were sawing something.) I just laughed. But the lady who lives next door to me drives me crazy. Her kids are pretty well behaved, but she talks to them in the "child voice" all the time. That wouldn't be so bad, but she talks to adults like that too. tired

laugh I wouldn't be suprised if that's why they moved either...I'm so tempted to leave now. haha

Actually I do feel sorry for the little girls, obviously they are starved of attention as well as the lack of supervision!

Oh talking to adults in a child voice, wow now that is the most severe case of nappy brain I have ever heard. laugh crazy

Every now and then you come across parents that don't pay attention to their kids or just don't care, and that's sad. Try putting up a no trespassing sign, maybe one that's on a stick placed in your ground and whenever you see them on your property tell them they need to leave. If you feel funny about telling them to leave maybe say that your grass is treated with chemicals and you don't want them on it.

i have the opposite problem - i have kids - and i have a neighboor who is a total poop. We just bought this house a few months ago - and in the summer they would play in front of the house kicking a soccer ball. I usually sat out on our front porch but sometimes i did not. They're old enuf to stay away from windows/cars/lawns etc.

I was sitting out on my porch watching them once day and out she comes stomping right up to them - yelling in their faces to not kick their soccer ball at her car (they were playing at least 10 ft away)....i just sat there - watching how my kids would react before i stepped in. As i said -they're older (15 and 18). They were both polite and said they would move down farther. She left - a few days later - she did it again -this time i stepped in. She was crossing the line to abuse. The boys were nowhere near her car - and if she ever went in my son's face again - i would call the police. I walked away - she started to come after me - until i turned around and stopped right in front of her. I think i shocked her. I told her to go back to her house and stay off my property or i would call the police.

At the end of the summer we had a street party -and one of my neighboors (who had witnessed the whole scene) introduced me to her husband.A very sweet guy - who apologized to me - saying his wife had just had a baby and she was stressed out - and hoped we could be friends. Then i felt bad! I've been there -done that.
