Do you think it's possible that we live among other forms of life - other planets, galaxies and solar systems?
What are your thoughts? Do you think we are visited now or have the potential ourselves to live outside of our own environment?
This was an interesting article on yahoo.

Hi! I didn't read the article but I will post my opinion. Ok, the average galaxy has from 10 trillion to 50 trillion stars from what I heard on the Discovery Science channel. Each star is a sun and has the possibility of having planets. So let's just be generous. Saaaaaaaay. 5 trillion stars have planets. Only 4 planets (wich is way low) that is 20 trillion planets. As a very low number. That could have life. That is an unimaginable number.
I laugh when I see the discovery channel and see how arrogant we are about life on other planets. I'm not a numbers guy but it's absolutely absurd to think that we are all alone. By the way that was just 1 galaxy I did the numbers for. There are hundreds of thousands. Even millions or trillions of galaxies out there. I would bet that our galaxy, wich is small from what I hear, has hundreds of thousands of planets with life. If not waaaay more.
I'm no scientist nor am I even smart. I just can do basic math. Even if we narrowed the numbers down to just 1million stars in our galaxy it would be crazy to think we are the only ones out there. We never know what God has on those other planets. Just my humble opinion. I look forward to see'ing others.

Hi there & welcome!
Well put. I've heard a lot of opinions about life outside of our galaxy and I for one believe there are many forms of life outside of our own. There's just too much space for there not to be.
There are even some theories about civilizations that came to this planet way back when, when their planets were in trouble, as well as speculation on being visited currently, keeping tabs of lost resources.
It feels we are behind compared to what's out there. I feel we have much more exploration to do in regards to time (how it really works, worm holes, black holes, etc.) I feel we will do some little experiment here and it will unveil a portion of time undiscovered.
When I think of time, I think of it as rolling up a piece of paper and poking a pencil through the sides. You can leave one side of the cylinder and reach the other within seconds. If we were traveling it might be hours or days.
As far as other life visiting our planet, I believe we have archeologist type explorers that take samples of things. Just as we have specialist that work on people they kind of keep tabs on us.
I never use to think that way until I had a dream about it. I was taken to a ship or vessle, I guess you'd call it. In the dream I could feel and hear as if I were awake. They didn't talk, they just sent messages through thoughts. They had vials/test-tubes and the area was remote - almost desert like - just patches of tough grass. They explained we were not alone and that there were others but they specifically were testing levels of something in our soil and there wasn't anything to be afraid of. I woke up well into the mid afternoon and didn't know where I was at first. I just never forgot that dream. Two more followed.

I agree with the math and our concept of probability. How arragant to assume "It's ALL for us." I don't recall any dreams or visions on this topic. However, as a child (6th grade) I did once see something, quite close, on a clear morning. Others saw it as well, an attorney and a doctor at different locations the same day. It was never explained, and it was definitely "Not from around Here." I have never seen anything like it since, but it does fit well the description of other sightings over the years. 35 years later, I still have the sketch I made that afternoon.
I've never really questioned that we are not alone. Physical proof would be nice. It's required for many, but not necessary for me. There are many things which can not be proved, or disproved.

Wow icp? Can you describe what it looked like? Were you scared? That must have been something!
My best friend in high school brought me over to meet her parents one afternoon. She said her mom and dad both saw a UFO. I didn't believe her at first. I thought she was trying pull a fast one. She marched right up to them and put them on the spot. Her dad had been in the armed forces but was retired.
i remember he looked down for a bit, and then just said, "it's true." When he said that her mom said, "We both saw it in the back of our house hovering above the fenced area. John (her husband) told us to all get inside. It just hovered for awhile and floated off. There was no noise."
They lived in the country at the time. She said it looked like it was deciding what to do and that they didn't usually talk about it.
I haven't seen anything like that close up. You never know how you're going to respond, I guess, until you do. I think I'd like to though.

There have been far too many people to say that they have seen things or other beings for us not to believe it. I saw a thing on the internet and there were people that had job titles that I couldn't spell on my best day and they were all talking about alien beings and space craft that they have seen and worked on.
The speaker nailed it. Out of the thousands and hundreds of thousands of alien reports. Only one has to be right to bust the whole "we are alone" theory out of the water.
I have been hearing more and more about alien craft being spotted around nuclear activity. There must be something to it. I'm not so vain as to discount a thousand people telling me they saw something. The bible say's out of the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses let every word be established. So to me, if 3 or more people said they saw it......that's all I need. Who am I to say they didn't see it. It really bothers me when we have all these reports and someone has the nerve to say "those people are crazy". I guess that takes us back to the arrogance thing!

In the sixth grade and living in rural South Carolina, I had never even heard of UFO's. I was about 7am and I was waiting at the bus stop by myself. Over the soybean field across the road from me was a cigar shaped silver object. It made no noise as it floated over the field. I really have no idea how big it was, but it wasn't very large, may the length of a small single engine plane, and with about the same diameter as the fuselage. It was being propelled forward, this was not a balloon. The next thing I remember was the bus driver touching my arm and calling my name. He got off the bus, as his yelling at me was getting no response. I had been standing there frozen for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The next day's headlines were of a lawyer and doctor seeing the same object hovering over a nearby lake later that same day. I mentioned it to my parents. They didn't believe me, so I dropped it.
I've told very few people of this, which brings up a good point. Exactly how many of such incidents go and have gone unreported. In the early 70's there was a rash of sightings all over the country. Many of these were associated with missile silos and nuclear power plants.
To this day and with all the TV shows about UFO's, there are still societal repurcussions for coming forward. So for each of the sightings and incidents which get reported, there are probably 5 or more that go unreported. This goes way back in our history. There are several Native American legends which refer to beings from the sky. But then there are medieval tapestries and paintings with UFO's in the background, strange glyphs on rocks in Australia, Africa, Southwestern USA.
This is truly a global phenomena which has existed for eons, but not integrated into society during recorded European based history. As we say in the South "We don't discuss that in our family."

You know B. H. can you imagine the pandamonium that would travel across the lands if and when we are introduced to our cosmic relatives?
You'd have the revelations vigilantes running around with their heads cut off, crowds of people who would play fear factor - arming for war, people who would be genuinely excited about proof (putting their minds at ease) etc. but all in all the gov. would lose control. I can't see that there is anything in it for them to tell the masses anything.
I felt then (when my friends parents told me their UFO experience) as I do now, that the proof will come from the people first and then the gov. If you could have seen that mans face when he spoke about the UFO... When he did speak about it, it was almost like he was contemplating doing something wrong, then just decided "the heck w/it..." and spilled it. The relief was eminent but in his face was bittersweetness - like frustration or a waste with the knowledge he had.
I for one would be excited as all get up. To me, we're still in the dark ages arguing over race like little children and faulty politics when there is just God almighty, SO MUCH MORE universally going on out there we could pay attention to and are a part of. Our focus now is scattered. My feeling is these other civilizations have learned to be effecient and have built communities/civilizations around that. I feel some are good, some are destructive and angry, just like people we have here, but there is advancement.
A lot of times it feels like you're spinning your wheels here. I've often looked up at the skies and felt homesick wondering what on earth compelled me to work in this particular atmosphere. I know there had to be good reason. Right now it's family and helping or teaching something, I don't know...awareness of more???
We used to joke, "Do you ever feel like you're on hold waiting for a call from the Mother Ship?"

I feel confident I'm where I'm supposed to be for this time. But all my life, I have observed and tried to learned everything. Nature, math, peoples' faces, buildings, maps, music, history, handicrafts, anything, everything. My best friend always joked with envy that I could hear something once, or just look at a book and it would somehow pop into my head.
My brain just soaks things up like a sponge. As I've gotten older, my recall ability has diminished. I have never shared this internal musing before, but have often questioned why I am like this. Am I plugged into "something"? Am I some sort of observer, and for who or what purpose? I cannot ride or drive without mentally "recording" the landscape, topography, types of trees, architecture, trash, vehicles, the list goes on. It's bothersome at times, especially when trying to focus on something.
This level of attention has kept me safe while traveling on several occasions. But I strongly feel that is not the only reason. It seems many things which grab my attention are trivial, or irrelevant. I'm not insane, just extraordinarily attentive with no explanation as to why, but with full knowledge there is a reason.
As I've lived through this on a daily basis, I've come to accept there is some type of universal knowledge pool, force, energy field, genetic memory perhaps. I honestly do not know how to describe it. And if so, my upload file into it must be REALLY large by now. On numerous times, I think I've downloaded from "it" as well.
I have known about things with no explanation as to why or how I could possibily have that information. There are numerous possible explanations: I have some psychic ability, my spirit guide is communicating with me on an unconscious level, it's a reincarnation thing, I just didn't remember it until that moment. I honestly have no clue.
I can only describe how it feels, and this is the best analogy I can come up with. There is some large library somewhere. I'm an employee who is on constant scan and record, but I also have a card to check things out on occasion.
I have never verbalized this. Am I the only One? It would certainly be either arrogant, or devastating to assume the answer yes.

P.S. I was like this well before I saw the UFO in the 6th grade, and there were only a few minutes of "lost" time during the event. Never been sure there is any connection. I don't believe in coincedence, so there is a reason I saw it.
