It seems strange that there isn't a thread of this nature yet in this forum... so here goes.
Democrats should feel proud of the campaign that lead to this day. Obama is the rebirth of our party, and of the country after 8 years of failed leadership.
Here's to the next 8 years...

When did the Presidency go from 4 years to 8? Doesn't he have to win a re-election in 4 years to get the additional 4?

When did the Presidency go from 4 years to 8? Doesn't he have to win a re-election in 4 years to get the additional 4? LOL! Yes, there have been too many presidents of late that have assumed they would get that 2nd term with no problem. Daddy Bush was one of the ones that only served 1 term.

I wish I could take credit, but I'm in a "RED" state that will probably never be blue,.. so I was going to vote for a 3rd party candidate but at the last moment I voted Obama. I think we should get rid of the electoral college it's useless.
This is a proud day for America. I hope Obama can affect change although I am a little un-trusting of all politicians. We'll see.

My husband and I are almost speechless with hope and gratitude for our own country. We, as a people, did something amazing yesterday. We feel more positive about the human race than we have in a very long time.
