The wealthy do pay taxes. Here are some actual statistics:
The wealthiest 1 percent of the population earn 19 per�cent of the income but pay 37 percent of the income tax. The top 10 percent pay 68 percent of the tab. Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent�those below the median income level�now earn 13 percent of the income but pay just 3 percent of the taxes.
However, I do understand where you are going with your post and I agree. If businesses receive tax increases then jobs will be cut and prices will increase. That is why it has been proven historically that raising taxes is not good for the economy.
My husband and I are not among the most wealthy either but we will be affected by Obama's plan to increase taxes on small businesses. And we will cut jobs and raise prices to overcome the tax increases.
