That's right! My step-grandmother is Canadian and she is up there now for Thanksgiving.

May I ask - what do the birds eat? Do they like cranberries? How about stuffing - they like raw bread.....You wouldn't feed them turkey, would you?

If I had a bird, I have no doubt that he or she would be able to eat off my plate.

Actually, parrots from tiels to macaws do like protein like chicken, turkey and eggs.(slivers of meat) They also like sweet potatoes, pumpkin and pumpkin seeds, cinnamon, apples and other veggie traditional Thanksgiving fare. No I do not let my fids out when company is present nor do they eat off my plate but they usually get some of what I'm having that involves veggies, pasta or beans....

I don't allow my birds to roam the table and help themselves either, but I know that some people do - LOL.

Jewel had some turkey, potatoes, peas, corn, perogies and a tiny bit of pumpkin pie for her thanksgiving dinner.

Mavis, That sounds yummy! I can hardly wait for our Thanksgiving in a few weeks! Unfortunately for my fids, my family is going to Atlanta this year so they will miss out. But don't feel sorry for them-I've been experimenting with Sweet Potato-Pumpkin-Pecan muffins for the winter holidays.
