Hello Sue and welcome to our world. This is a great place to share and explore new ideas! I am moving to an apartment with only a patio. I won't have my nice big yard to garden in anymore. Do you have any suggestions for me on how to bring inside some little garden I can play with?

Hi Sue,

I look forward to wanting to garden grin I was thinking peppermint and spearmint to start! Don't they just go totally crazy on their own?

Hi Sue,

Yes, you know me from Suite101. I think I have posted quite a bit in your area!

I live in Texas myself and gardening on the Gulf Coast is totally different from anywhere else, so just in case you have a problem or question, just check in on the bulb gardening site.

By the way, Sherri, I love your articles. I learn something every time. Keep up the good work.

:-) Look at all the Suite101 faces out there!

I am the new editor for Pregnancy. I'm just finishing up my training but it's been fun so far.

It's good to see some familiar ones here!

I posted a question tonight in the container gardening forum but thought I would post here also.

I have an hibiscus in a container on my deck. I was wondering about the best way to preserve it over the winter. Should I put it in the rather dark garage or in front of a not bright window?

I've heard you can do either, I think a bright window is ok though. My mother in-law sticks hers right next to their bright glass french doors and they've had their hibsicus for years.

I had one once that I kept in my kitchen by a bright picture window years ago. The only problem I had with it was bringing it back out into the sun in the spring. I brought it into full sun too quickly and so the leaves burned. If you do something similar I'd make sure you put it outside in shade first, then partial sun, etc.

I also had one that I kept inside my garage by the side door which had a window in it.

It still goes a bit dormant by a bright window, so just cut back on watering. I watered the one in my house more than the one in my garage though.

Good luck!
