As there isn't a category for Christianity, I thought I would pose this question here.

What effect, if any, has the discovery of the Gospels of Judas had on the way you view the events leading to the supposed crucifixion of Jesus Christ?

Bible Basics is our Chrisitanity forum.

But no problem with putting this question here!

I actually haven't read any of the Gospels of Judas, yet. I need to. Guess I better go do that before I comment on it! wink

The Gospel of Judas was not written by Judas himself, but supposedly by other followers of Jesus. Judas believed, stemming from many conversations that he had with Jesus, that he was actually following the instructions of Jesus and that he in fact had a mission to accomplish. Judas has been portrayed throughout history as having a war within himself as to whether he should follow the Christ's instructions or to save his Master from all harm.
