This this would be a good place to discuss my latest curiosity. I have been under a lot of stress lately. Life has been rather dramatic, and I have really had to dig deep to keep level headed. I have found though, that I get a great effect from eating chocolate. I don't even need to eat a lot. Just a small amount and I really am filled with a sense of wellbeing. It has honestly helped me out during these difficult times. Does anyone else use chocolate as a de stresser? I thought it was a myth, but I feel it has proven it'self to me!

I do but I have to watch my weight as well. I tend to get a lot of stress related illnesses so I try to use non-caloric ways to beat it. (exercise, reading, watching movies as a distraction).
it ain't easy!

Yeah, I do excercise too, which is more of a vanity thing than a stress relief. But it does help in that way too. Life has settled down a bit, and I do find I'm less drawn to chocolate. I still love it, but I don't feel so much of a need for it, you know?

While it does provide some relief, it is short lived and it can get addictive. Better alternative would be to learn slow, deep breathing. It'll immediately calm you down.

There must be some kind of chemical in it that makes you happy, I know I feel much better after eating some.

I get a sense of comfort from chocolate, I really crave dark chocolate when I'm stressed, Or when I'm sad, or for any reason for that matter

Chocolate produces good endorphins in the brain, which exercise does also, and it makes you feel good. Also, chocolate has magnesium, which is good for your nerves.

I didn't know that about magnesium. I get a bit of anxiety so that's good to know. I've been playing this funny game this morning You are a chocolate man and you have to dodge women trying to eat you! It's a good time waster.
