Hello!
I was just wondering what everyone is going to grow over winter? I am not sure what I want to do this year inside.
I have some goji that I started that I am going to keep inside over winter and I think I'll grow some basil (I love basil.) Besides that I am not sure.

Love you to hear from you all.

Hello

I've got basil, thyme and pelargoniums (scented geranium) inside at the moment. I'll be bringing in my pineapple sage plants soon; the leaves are lovely used in desserts and it has lovely pink flowers in the winter which brighten the house up!

The parsley, sage, thyme and rosemary in my garden will still be usable in the winter but I might pot up some chives for the kitchen windowsill.

Haven't tried goji plants yet, are they frost tender?

My rosemary plants will hold up as well as lavender. I just put parsley and basil on the kitchen window sill. I have a 6'by 8' glass house and the herbs are still growing as well as tomatoes still getting blossoms. I live above the 52 latitude in The Netherlands.

You have a lot going! That's great. What zone are you in?

I am in 7B I guess (the realtor said it's now zone 8 but on the back of seed packs it shows us as 7. So, I go with 7 when I buy things.)

I can't say for sure about the Goji. I have read that it should do ok in my zone but I have found VERY single bug and critter eats them. I have one big plant that I grew from seeds a while back and that one is inside now.

I had a few in the ground but the bugs and other things kept at them.

I grew about 12 other plants and gave them to friends and family (some in Ohio, one in Mississippi, one in Washington, and a few others here and there.) It'll be neat to see how they hold up for them too (everyone that I gave the plants to earlier in the year said the same thing that BUGS just love them.)

I'd love to grow rosemary. It's one of the plants that I haven't done yet. Maybe, next year. Is it an easy one to grow?

Thanks,

The Netherlands, that is so neat. I would love to be able to go there some day. I have seen a few pictures and it looks really beautiful. How cold does it get there?

Hi there,

Mine are pretty basic pretty much everything you'd see in the kitchen pantry. I keep the containers and replace with the dry herbs I have growing.

It helps in saving money and honestly the depression that hits sometimes in the winter when everything is grey and cold.
