Hey guys, I was hoping someone would be able to identify this fish! My step mother gave it to me because her platies were picking on it... I want to get it some buddies for a school, but she doesn't remember what its called! She thinks its a tetra, and it does seem to have a tetra body, but those fins are throwing me off! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much! [URL=BellaOnline ALERT: For anti-spam reasons, we restrict the number of URLs allowed in a given post. O.k., now the computer is freezing up and I'm going to shut it down and start over! Maybe the photos will come up better then, but a larger, clearer one that is not too dark and not too light to represent the true color and sharper edges to show the finnage and body type better!

I was trying to say that a larger, clearer photo would help identify him and also that he could be several possibilities of type of fishy - at the moment, only the top photo you submitted is viewable. The others are blank. The one at the top is not enlarging right now - and I did manage to put it up as a screensaver so I could see a larger version, but it's so fuzzy that your eyes can play tricks on you and it looks like it could be several different types of fish. So, I'll try again later and if, in the meantime, you could send a larger, clearer photo witht the true color and clear edges on the finnage and body shape, I could tell you exactly which species of fishy he is! ( : Thanks!

In addition to that, I had written you a reply that isn't showing up here, so I'll try it again: I was saying that I'm wondering if your step mother got any information about the fish when she got it and where she got it from. She would have to know some basic things about it, right? I mean, she would need to know what to feed it, whether it's a freshwater fish or saltwater fish and which other types of fish are compatible with it? She'd need to know the water temperature that is correct for it. They would need to tell her some things like that when she bought it so she could give him proper care and keep him healthy and happy. So, in addition to a bigger, more focused picture, any information she has on care and feeding would be useful in determining for sure what kind of fish he is! ( :

HI!I hope you have already found this out somewhere, but it is a long finned rosy barb, a male by the colour, females are more yellow.
