I have a friend who's parents budget won't allow her to go to homecoming this October. She was really bummed out about it, so I insisted on paying for it. (Shes more like a sister to me) The only thing is she wants it to be a surprise, I know her style, though at times, I think the dress styles can be so unflattering for her body type. Shes a thin girl, however the dresses she wears can invite the wrong attention.

Does anyone have a daughter, niece, best friend, cousin thats going to homecoming? If so, what kind of dresses are they purchasing this yr? Or do any of you know of an online store, in which you've purchased a dress before, and had a good exp? Please advice!

It's sweet of you to help her out.

Amazon.com has a wide range of formal dresses from a variety of different sellers. Might be a good place to start looking, even if just to get an idea of style or colour.

Here is the link to dresses:

Oh thanks smile

I need more options though, I went through amazon with her when she first thought her parents would give her the money for it, and she didn't like most of the dresses displayed on there.....

Okay, here are some more online options, but these really start to go up in price compared to some of those available on Amazon:

Hmm, I think shes really into the one shoulder strap dresses, I suppose it's what all the hollywood actresses are wearing..?

She wants something short, Im assuming maybe an inch above her knees. She's stating she doesn't want something too formal, however she needs it to look like she's attending a semi formal party..

Have you guys ever heard about camdendrive? she's mentioned it to me, but I haven't looked into it yet.

Thanks so much for your help, I'm going to check it out.

I haven't heard of Camden drive before, but I looked it up and it looks very good. Here's a link to short prom dresses:

Oh, snap! I found some dresses that I thought she might like! Thank you for your help elle! Try to visualize my friend, shes 5'6, slender, yet busty, she is light toned with dark brown hair.. which dress do you think would best suit her frame..

I think the first one ("tight sexy fuschia dress") stands out - the neckline is not too low so it will take a bit of emphasis off her bust, while the beaded gathering on the hip would give her some curviness. The split lets her have the "short" skirt look she liked and show off her legs, while the length keeps it formal enough for a prom. She's also got the one-shoulder strap look she was after. It looks nice and trendy and a bit unusual with the dark beading.

Thanks so much for your help! I already order the one should strap dress. I showed it to her and she almost cried.

BTW, can you see the pictures that I uploaded? or did you have to go to the link to the website?

I had to go to the link. I'm not sure why the images didn't load.

I'm so glad you've found something she will love. That's great news. smile
