Hi everyone!
Sorry it's been so long since my last article. I got hit by the flu and it knocked me flat. My new article is about getting your garden through bad weather and dealing with storm damage. Hope anyone who's been hit with bad weather lately is safe!

Hi everyone. I was hit very bad with Hurrican Ike and it did poor Houston in and because of it I'll have to revamp my landscape but it couldn't have happened at a better time. Considering I still have my life, family, home and most of my garden, and autumn is on the way, prices are down at all nurseries, this couldn't be a better time. Feel better Sue. Bye!

Kimmie, you are finding the silver lining in Ike's stormy clouds!
Would you believe that even up here in northern Indiana we felt the effects of Ike plus a Pacific tropical storm that swept through one after the other and dumped 11 inches of rain on us in 2 days. After the rain passed I found that so much of the topsoil had washed away from my flower beds that many of my spring bulbs and lily bulbs were uncovered!
Luckily the soil was so soft that I could just poke them back down.
