You've probably noticed that I don't post writing contests very often, either in the forum or on the main site. The reason is that there are simply so many online writing contests, many of which become extinct within a very short period, and some of which are scams. To keep track of those that are current and legitimate would take all my available time.

There are already websites out there that employ staff members to keep an up to date list of contests with some level of useful detail. One of the best of these is Winning Writers (who incidently sponsor the Wergle Flomp poetry contest).

If you are looking for writing contests to enter, always do your research and read the fine print carefully.

Why don't you start your own writing contest here just for fun. You've done things like that before or start an "add a line" story in here. We have a great one running int RPG Forum.

The legal ramifications for BellaOnline are too tight. We can only do trivia contests where there is a right or a wrong answer, not subjective judging.

We did have "Add a line" or something similar going before but it bombed.
