When I get up I always get fully dressed (no baggy sweatpants or sitting around the house in a robe). I spend a lot of time at home alone, but I still think it's valuable to feel good about how I look and feel in my clothes. I get up and throw on a little bit of makeup to feel lovely for both myself and the man in my life. I find that if I feel better about myself I carry myself in a more positive, upbeat manner. I also work out everyday. I either do a cardio work out or a weight training work out. I'm kind to my body and I eat right to take care of it right because I've seen the effects of poor health in my own family from neglect and abuse.

Your are right DebCreativeEditor.. I am a home based working mom and It is important to get fully dressed even if we are at home. It helps me motivate on working my tasks and also make my day alive beacuse i feel beautiful and refresh.

Exercise definately makes me feel better. After a run I feel more in tune with myself and I see a different person in the mirror.
I work from home too and it is very important that I still make the effort to get dressed and do my hair! I do spend a lot of time in trackies, but I try to only buy them in styles that fit and flatter, and wear a nice casual top. Mascara is generally enough makeup to make me feel pretty at home, and I try to remember to wear perfume.
I use colours to boost myself too. I love black, but some days I really just need to wear pretty florals to feel feminine.

I've started jogging again. I haven't done it since college and I didn't realize how much I miss it. I've never really appeared to be an out of shape person, but I feel so much more fit with running compared to riding my exercise bike for example. I might not look different on the outside with running, but I feel in better shape, which makes me more confident and happier about myself.

I also seem to have a perfume addiction that I've gotten somewhat under control. Perfume feels pampering to me since it's really just something I enjoy for me, I'd put expensive body lotions in the same catagory as well.

I also take my dog for a walk every morning rain or shine. He gets so excited about his morning walk that it's impossible to not feel positive and happy with myself and the day ahead.

I think its so important that as women, especially those that work from home and are at home moms, that we give ourselves a boost everyday if at all possible. Self-esteem is already a factor when it comes to women being in the spotlight and it always has to do with our appearance. So, smell good, look good, work out (I am) and keep yourselves intact ladies.

I recently met a celebrity stylist called Ceril Campbell at a lingerie event who has styled loads of celebrities for red carpet events and even styled Patricia Field (costume designer of sex and the city) and she was just brilliant. her job is to help women look their best, no matter what shape they are, and advises on the kind of underwear women of different sizes should wear. i think she's pretty expensive to hire as an image consultant but i know that there are lots of great tips on her website: www.redcarpetundies.com as well as some nice underwear and lingerie accessories.

i hope this helps...she made me feel so positive about myself when i met her and that's got to be a good thing....
