Just a thought what would have happened if a hurricane hit during the DNC and an evangelical said, "This is proof that God is angry with the Dems?" Would there be hell to pay (<--- I made a funny  ) Would it have been taken as lightly as these remarks are?

what I think is interesting is that anyone takes anything Michael Moore as serious and without a grain of salt. The man is known for saying controversial things. Thats what he was doing here. Using his warped sense of humor and using satyr.
The difference between something an evangellical preacher said after 9/11 (Gay are thecause of 9/11) and this is intent and perception. The preacher truly believed what he said whereas I don't think Moore truly believes what he says half the time.

It's asinine if they did. I find it amaizing that anyone anywhere thinks something as awe-inspiring and creative as God force has even the slightest interest in wanting to be credited with man-made mistakes, political or otherwise.

I can see the argument that Republicans cannot recognize sarcasm. It is always the argument when Democrats say things that are incensitive, politically incorrect, or just plain wrong- "I was joking," or "I mispoke."
Michael Moore does not have much credibility and is known as a socialist (Then why put him on a major news network in the first place- obviously someone is taking him seriously)
The link below is the former chairman of the DNC who did not know he was being recorded. He was not making a joke. The Dems do not see the humaness of the issues- only how it will benefit their party.
