Corral, my daughter has been HIV for over 20yrs, She is in alot of pain right now because of kidney problems, no they won't prescribe pain meds for her. (she is also a drug addict)
As far as doctors treating you with respect there are many out there that do, but also some that don't. I once got stuck with my daughters needle that she shoots heroin with. I went right to the ER room they put me on medication that HIV people take. I was on it a days but got very sick so the doctor took me off I was tested and came back neg. I did not contract the disease. But to get back to your question about doctors and respect, last year i got a very bad eye infection from make up. I went to the same ER room the nurse was very nice we were joking laughing etc. then she looked at my records and saw i was prescribed that HIV medication. Her whole attitude towards me changed, the laughing stopped, and she said distastefully YOUR HIV. I never felt so discriminated against. she looked at me with discuss. So i am well aware of disrespectful professional people. Its ashame in this day and age people still get treated like that. I wish you luck in finding a good doctor they are out there Good luck
