This includes anything on AS, ASD or special ed. I am slowly getting back to No More Meltdowns by Dr. Baker. I tend to do reading while at the laundromat, but with kids home it is hard to even do that.
I plan to get back to my reading list next week when they go to Summer camp, so maybe I will do a goal for at least one hour a day to get caught up and thru my stack of books.

I was currently reading Overcoming Autism by Lynn Kern Koegel and Claire LaZebnik. My son's ABA therapist recommended it to me. However, I stopped reading it once I got to the part where one of the writers of the book, whose son has come a long way, mentioned that she was fortunate enough to be able to afford the rather expensive therapies her child needed. I immediately felt discouraged after reading that and put the book down, because I, on the other hand, cannot afford the expensive therapies.

I have that book in my collection, just not enough time to read them all. Thanks for the heads up on that aspect of the book. That would discourage me as well.
What state are you in that you got ABA covered for earlier years?

We're in California. I wish I would have gotten Aaron tested earlier, because we only received ABA therapy from March 17, 2008 to June 2, 2008, when he turned 3. He progressed tremendously just in those 2 1/2 months.
When he was first assessed they gave us the option of going to a center 3 hours a day for 5 days a week, or the 25 hours a week of intensive ABA therapy. They recommended the center, but after doing some research I requested the ABA therapy.
I still plan on picking up the book and reading it. I'm sure it has a lot of great information in it. The money bit just discouraged me, though.

I was going to guess California since the Regional Center does funding of ABA during Early Intervention years. I am in the Los Angeles area.

These days its getting to the point of "what haven't you read..." I've gone through everything they had on the shelves in my public library. I think the best one I've come across is Attwood's "The Complete Guide to Asperger's."
I my look for "No more meltdowns." Sounds like it could be useful.
