Today my body is trembling and my arms and legs do not want to move. My husband said if things do not improve in a week he is going to go with me to the doctor and demand that he send me to a neurologist.

Has anyone experienced severe trembling and shaking of the body after an upsetting event. So strongly that it is noticable to the people around you? I am just wondering if that is something associated with Hypothyroid or not?

I have been keeping a journal of symptoms since Monday.

Could it be just the exhaustion from my hysterectomy from 2 1/2 m onths ago?

I am grasping at straws, I know.

can anyone help with this?

Teresa

Hi, this caused me to answer back. In some strange way I was happy to see this question. I have the same problem and I have noone to talk about it as I do not know how to describe it. The trembling goes all over my body and sometimes it wakes me in the night. It usually happens after some stress. There is no medications I can take. Perhaps some sedative, I am not sure.

is it time to have your thyroid levels checked? It sounds like maybe you are getting too much thyroid medicine.

Do you have hashi? if so that might explain, because the levels bounce around from one to the other.

Teresamang,

These are good replies you have received and I agree thyroid disease of any kind have potential to cause the trembling, as do other types of endocrine and hormonal changes. While hyperthyroidism and toxicity from too much thyroid med can both cause tremor, so can Hashimoto's as pmcgall mentioned.
There are research articles that associate mild neuropathies (nerve problems) with thyroid autoimmunity and I've corresponded with many patients that have Hashimoto's and the fine tremors in their hands and sometimes throughout their bodies.
An MRI isn't a bad idea, especially if your thyroid medication levels check out in proper range and the tremors are severe or are accompanied by other neurological symptoms.

Hi,
l would say you need to look at adrenal support, with hypothyroidism it is a good idea to look into suppliments for the adrenals as a matter of course, and in your case you have had major surgery too.
A good starting point would be, vitamin C, Himalayan salt and Nutri Adrenal, or if your blood pressure is ok Nutri Adrenal Extra.
Have you had your B12 levels checked too?
