It has just been announced that technicians complained about corrosion on the under carriage of this aircraft a few months ago. Is this another case of operators trying to save money by doing nothing?

This morning's news reported that it looks as if an oxygen cylinder normally stored in that area might have burst and blown out the panel. The cylinder is missing, and Quantas has been told to examine all oxygen cylinders on all of their planes. As for trying to save money by cutting back on servicing, they all have been doing that for some time so that they can offer the low priced tickets that we travellers demand. It is bound to bite us some day!
