I once saw a movie where several women rented a castle in April. It really made me feel like I would want to do that with some friends. Do you know if Scotland or Ireland has any castle rentals available and where would I find info/details?

No idea re Scotland or Ireland but would the film you saw have been Enchanted April? I've seen it several times and love it!

Oh I'd love to do that! I'd rent a castle in Ireland with lots of great bracing walking country, huge log fires, gaelic coffees, folk music, four poster beds and banquets!
Oh well..... in the meantime I'll stick with London lol!

The movie was "Enchanted April" - thanks, Gillian!
I would think it would include a staff. I certainly would not want to wander around trying to find the kitchen to stoke up the fires myself to fix breakfast.
In the movie, the castle was run just like a Bed & Breakfast.

Yes - wouldn't it be lovely to have people looking after Moms for a change! Moms could base themselves in the Scottish Highlands, then visit Shakespeare country, London, Canterbury and Oxford!
Some tourists really do do that!
