I said 75 but really that's only at night, to go to sleep, and only if it's really hot or muggy. The rest of the time the house pretty much goes to the temperature it wants to and we have windows open to get a breeze. I'll only turn my office AC on during the day if it's really hot (90+) or muggy out. My AC in my office doesn't have a temperature on it, just low-medium-high but I think it goes down into the 80 range.

During the day we keep the house at 80, and we lower it to 76 at night for sleeping.

We live in Georgia, so to have it any lower than that means our electricity bill is outrageous! Of course it was outrageous last month anyway, and that was with those strict temp settings. (I feel they are strict, this is one of the few areas hubby and I fight over - I can't stand being hot, but he is the money mgr, so is always looking out for ways for us to save).

I love the heat and so does my husband. It is the cold we hate!
The air conditioner is rarely on unless it is too humid to breathe. We have overhead fans in every room and with that and open windows, it is balmy and pleasant.

It's very hot and muggy in Texas but we've been keeping the thermastat at about 77-78 to try and keep the electric bill down. We use a fan in the bedroom at night and that helps a lot.

Living in Spain ... the heat at the moment is hard to take when outside but the villas are built in such a way that they never get too hot indoors, especially with all the windows and doors open most of the day for the breeze to go through

At night, we find that if we lie on a towel and have a cotton sheet on top, it is quite cool and saves wasted electricity too.

It's 80 in our house in the summer, and 60-65 in the winter. The A/C is more to keep the humidity down.

The stepkid asked this morning (in a whining tone) why we kept it soooo HOOOTTT in the summer. She got a lecture that electricity wasn't cheap.

I can definitely see that an apartment would get hot - you can rarely open windows in a way to get a cross-current. We're lucky in our house that we can open windows all over to get a breeze flowing through - and we have several fans to help that process out.

Also we have an ice machine so I always have a glass of ice water next to me, so I am cooling myself from the inside. It makes a HUGE difference!

Living in Florida can be really rough in the summer but so can the electric bills. We have our thermastat set at 86 in the day (and I'm home)and night. It can be unbearable at times, that's when I have to jump in the pool or take a cold shower. We have a window unit for the bedroom at night. We've been doing this since last year and it really does cut down on electric usage and keeps our electric bill under control.
