Please pardon the expletive in the video's title. It's, "Where the He!! is Matt?" It's actually very cute and family friendly. The kids might enjoy finding these locations on a globe...

Someone sent me the link to the video a few days ago and I passed it along to our son as it was the sort of thing I could see him doing (saying it hadn't already been done). The link for "About Matt" didn't work the other day (haven't checked since to see if it is now) and I emailed the guy to ask what the story was there, but haven't heard back, so I guess my email wasn't interesting enough to just be asking a simple question like that (he notes that he'll only respond to interesting questions as he gets tons of mail).

It was interesting seeing a number of sights in the video of places I've been (or my family or my son and I or whoever and I have been). Brought back nice memories.

Oh yes- you guys have done so much traveling, I'm envious! Have you seen the facebook add-on that allows you to chart how much of the planet you've visited? I tried it, but deleted the account after I saw my paltry 9%. It would be cool to see how much you and your son have seen.

Our son has had that application on Facebook for ages. He's visited 20% of the world (so not as much as you might have thought) according to what he has on that site right now, but I know he hasn't updated it since he went to England as his map still shows that as a country he'd like to visit rather than has already visited (he clearly didn't count our brief time in England last summer, which I can understand, but he should have counted his 5-day business trip there last month).

And my percentage would be around our son's as he's been to Iceland where I haven't been there, but I've been to some Caribbean islands that he's yet to visit. Other than that, we are pretty much the same. He's been to 33 of the "countries" listed on the Traveler's Century Club (so about 1/3 the way to his goal of being able to join that club) and I've been to 38 (and likely won't ever reach the goal to join that club). My father got to 65 countries, so nearly 2/3 the way there before he stopped traveling overseas. Perhaps I should just aim for breaking my father's 65 mark?

Rose Marie-

Are you familiar with an old song by Jim Carroll called, "88 Lines About 44 Women"? It's rather dark, but the music is nice and the structure is cool- 2 lines on each woman. I'm thinking that you and your son could write a similar ditty about traveling the world...

Not heard of that song, don't think. And the only "song" I can think of that my son has written was *rap* (he created it to answer the question, "So what is your research on?") - did you see it?

I did see his rap! Very funny! that's why I thought it would be fun to hear a travel version of the Jim Carroll song- it is sort of like rap...
