My husband would like to immigrate to Canada. His father was born there and took him quite a bit as a child.
My question is, how are American immigrants accepted by Canadians? Are there any negative stereotypes?
Also, where is the WARMEST place in Canada (I am a California girl).

In my opinion, American immigrants are always welcome in Canada. I've made the acquaintance of many fine Americans over the years.

In all honesty, there are tensions between our two countries. Part of it stems from what some Canadians view as an unfair application of the North American Free Trade Agreement (to the detriment of Canada).

However, I think you'll find most Canadians open minded and friendly.

As for the warmest place in Canada, opinions vary as to the exact location, but the province of British Columbia seems like the clear winner. For you, that means staying on the west coast!

I am certain Point Pelee, Ontario is the most southern place in Canada. I am sure it is further south than some parts of California.

However, I'm not sure you could live there as it's a wildlife sanctuary (I believe)

Welcome to Canada the best country in the world - except for the weather!

Canada always welcomes immigrants. I have lots of Romanian friends there (I'm from Romania). And Italians! And some Russians too...They are mostly engineers and professors in well-known universities.
They feel at home! The only problem is...the weather. It took them a long time to get used to..the cold.
Anyway the conditions of life in Canada are definitely superior to those in Romania (price of food, wages, etc) and there are no discriminations in many domains.
As to where is the warmest place...definitely somewhere in the south, close to the US border...
However if I ever come to Canada I wouldn't look at the weather. I convinced myself that there are marvellous people there. Many helped me a lot to gather material for my PhD for example.
And some sent me marvellous pps and ppt presentations with Canadian parks and Canadian monuments.
For me, yes cold scares me, but human warmth makes it bearable.
I'm not a dreamer, i convinced myself.

There have been lots of talks against Romanian immigrants in Italy for example. The gipsy community made a fool of ourselves and we cannot do anything agaisnt them because they have rights, strog rights! especially after we joined the European Union.

Romanians aren't gipsies as many Italians started believing.
90% of them work hard to achieve their dreams.

and in Canada most of them achieved their dreams.
